[ SO.
Who here is awake at 2am in the morning.... sources say that Inaba is. ]
I don't know how many of you guys are up at this late hour, but let's just say Iris cycle kind of keeps me up sometimes and a good distraction is absolutely necessary for a bit.
Therefore!
I will provide some classic late night text entertainment in the form of two separate games:
1) If you are Japanese and would prefer to play some shiritori for me for a challenge, I'm here for it.
OR
2) You can do a 'text adventure' story with me, custom made, on the spot. Just give me a basic genre or concept and I'll think of something quick for you. I need to keep up with my writing skills, after all.
So tl;dr: pick your poison, it's late.

Can you tell me what it's about, then?

Well, a text adventure is kind of like a 'choose your own adventure' novel.
I write a story - or at least the beginning of one, and then the next person responds with what they want to do, or attempt to do, and then I respond to that. It just keeps going back and forth until the story's done or someone gets bored.

But it sounds like it could be fun. I'd like to play along.

Are there any sorts of books that you enjoy reading back home? If you've read any at all. It'll help me come up with a scenario.

I mostly read books that teach magic. There's not a lot of downtime for entertainment. But when I was little, I loved stories about the Four Cardinal Heroes!

The 'Four Cardinal Heroes?'

There's the hero of the Sword, the Bow, the Spear, and the Shield. When the world is in a time of crisis, they will be summoned to save it.
The Shield Hero is always kind to Demi-Humans like myself, but many humans used to be biased against him for reasons nobody quite understood. There was even a religion that worshiped the first three and excluded the Shield. But he's a wonderful man with a great heart.

Well, I find myself curious when it comes to learning about new things, after all. Part of my nature.
I see. That's definitely a typical story, I think. But I get why people would do something like that. There's always that sort of group that would attempt to ostracize just to make themselves look better. It's kind of bullshit and it's not done without a proper reason. If you're going to dislike someone, there needs to be a proper reason behind it, not some shoddy crap like 'because they're such and such race' or 'because they have this label'. That's just stupid discrimination.

... Being smug is not necessarily fine.

Anyway, you were going to teach me about questing stories?

Let me write something up first, then you can respond with what you want to do. Oh, and feel free to ask me any questions as well.
You're in a school, surrounded by many students. There are many people here - humans, halflings, vampires and the like. Students who are here to learn magic and the supernatural.
Thankfully, classes are out for the day and while you're still new to the school itself, there's a lot to explore.
Magical stairs lead to many locations.
A library, filled with books that you could learn more.
The courtyard, filled with many majestic creatures that you could find.
The playing grounds, where people play a lively sport and even have magical competitions.
Your dorm rooms, where you currently stay.
And there's other places as well that are natural in a school: bathrooms, classrooms, the principal's office, you name it.
So, where do you decide to go today?

I've never been to a school before! Can I go into one of the classrooms?
