[ SO.
Who here is awake at 2am in the morning.... sources say that Inaba is. ]
I don't know how many of you guys are up at this late hour, but let's just say Iris cycle kind of keeps me up sometimes and a good distraction is absolutely necessary for a bit.
Therefore!
I will provide some classic late night text entertainment in the form of two separate games:
1) If you are Japanese and would prefer to play some shiritori for me for a challenge, I'm here for it.
OR
2) You can do a 'text adventure' story with me, custom made, on the spot. Just give me a basic genre or concept and I'll think of something quick for you. I need to keep up with my writing skills, after all.
So tl;dr: pick your poison, it's late.

Alright.
Genre of preference?

none she's old enough to write...]I guess I haven't done a science fiction one recently.
[Ah, good ol' Roger. Where'd he end up, anyway?]

Well, here goes:
The future is looking bright.
You're surrounded in a rather glamourous city filled with flying cars and robots of all shapes and sizes. It's quite a contrast to your original world, but you find yourself in splendor. Being from the past makes you practically a celebrity.
There are robots on the streets; some of the older models look like clunky metal while newer ones look almost human with a few minor exceptions.
There's tons to explore -- an arcade with tons of virtual reality games that make everything seem almmost real. Clothing stores where you can just change outfits with a press of a button. The underground markets filled with trinkets from long past. Gadget stores that have things that one could almost call 'magic', back home, but are done completely with science.
And then there's also the neural network, which allows you to access information and forums just by thinking about it. Of course, there are always devices as well, but this is nifty on its own!
It's just an average day.
What could possibly go wrong?
You decide to...

Wow, that's a lot of new messages. Thankfully, you've been here long enough that you have control over it. Don't want to be swamped so quickly.
There's plenty of things to look over.
The news.
Bulletin boards.
FutureTube.
What are you looking for today?

Ah, yes, the news.
There's always something interesting in there that could perk you right up in the morning!
There's lots of sections that one could even say would be too overwhelming for a story like this.
Music, sports, daily life, games, technology.
What do you want to be up to date with today?

I don't want to get off-track, but is there a puzzle here or is it supposed to be more like an open-ended simulation?

[Boy, that would be a lot of work to make a game...Guess that's why she's doing it off the cuff, right?]
In that case, games.

There's news about games that are virtual reality remakes of some rather famous ones.
And that apparently includes some horror games, too.
There also seems to be some sort of convention coming up in a few weeks as well, including an event in two months for charity.

It seems to be the annual "To the Future!" gaming convention, where everyone in this world presents their potential next generation consoles and gadgets, along with a bunch of presentations of new games.
There seems to be a lot of VR games on display, but there are non-VR ones as well, surprisingly enough.
