Video | UN: oceangem (dated right after triple moon)

[She was going to try and do this anonymous, and voice to text, but instead she accidentally hit the video option.

So everyone gets a scene of a flustered looking Lapis Lazuli.]

Is it normal for the moon stuff to be so extreme? Not that I'm complaining just...

[A sigh.]

It's unexpected how bad it got.

I meant more in regards to the way in which the moons effect you -- that is, will it be this extreme every month or was this month just particularly bad -- but that is interesting to know.

[Okay, so, full disclosure: Ford is, for better or worse, friends with Larry. Ford knows what Lapis is talking about, because how many blue girls can there possibly be in this city? Ford is also possessed of just enough braincells to know he maybe shouldn't come right out and say he knows when this is (he thinks?) a public conversation.]

Almost any species will have a difficult time adjusting to something it has no prior experience with. The 'extreme' nature of what you experienced makes sense in that context.

[What he's saying is: valid to be flustered.]

If it is, you may want to have a contingency plan.

[Like, a dildo or three. Something.]

[Perhaps something other than Larry Laffer, yes, if he wasn't to her tastes.]

... Poof yourself?

I'm not well-versed in slang. You'll have to explain.

[See! That's a much better plan than temporary hibernation. Do some experimenting.]

Ah. I see. [Sort of.] So you have some sort of permanent core where your real self resides and the rest of your body is a construct?

[He's good at intuiting things, thank goodness. The weirder it is, the quicker he is on the uptake. This is why he can easily grok alien languages but is still a little confused about DVDs.]

... And you would prefer to retreat into that core and have to endure what I imagine must be a lengthy and energy-intense process of regenerating a body, rather than dealing with your moonblessing.

[Yikes. Was it really that bad?]

Yes, but -- is that a sustainable solution, doing that once a month? Possibly twice?

[They super fucking didn't, because neither of them is particularly good at or well versed in social norms. Oops!]

That's true. There's no reason not to at least test it. If you can maintain enough Chroma to live comfortably despite all that lost time then it may be a suitable solution for you.

[Just like... pls don't starve. He isn't yet aware that gems also don't eat.]

don't feel obligated to respond to this since it's so late!

If you can spend a solid day or so with someone you might be able to stockpile enough to make up the difference.

[If the issue is, you know, the whole Iris heat thing specifically. A day doesn't even have to mean sex, she can just do a marathon hug session, it's fine.]

Ultimately you can't know until you try it. This is all conjecture when we don't even have actual numbers to be working with.
