[After much, much fiddling with the device on his wrist - which at first brougt some interesting flashbacks of a certain other wrist device he was forced to wear one time - Jigen finally manages to get the video feed feature of the thing going, and the first thing that's on the screen is his less than amused face, a cigarette burning between his lips.]

So, this "moonlacing" deal... [He takes a long drag from his cigarette, head shaking for a moment.] Not sure what this place's plan is but they couldn't have picked a worst guy for the job. [The only other person he can think of that would be a worse fit is Goemon.]

Am I really expected to get all lovey dovey with strangers to generate some mystical energy? Yeah, not happening any time soon.

But I should at least introduce myself, since I'm here and all. Name's Jigen Daisuke, and despite these... [He points at the bunny ears that have now replaced his own.] I'm a completely normal human. Well, I guess these have their advantages. I feel like my hearing is more accurate.

I guess I'll be seeing you people soon, hm? [The feed unceremoniously ends without either a good bye or wave of a hand. Yeah... not the friendliest guys around.]

Have you been here for long? I already know people come and go at random here so I'm asking just because I'm curious, since there's no way to get a pattern on that.

I got here this month, so I'm a newbie too.

[He's a little more chill than Jigen about the moonlacing thing, though, so he's settled into it much quicker.]

The new arrivals seem to be pretty consistent, considering they send out monthly search parties. Besides that, I don't really know anything about patterns.

You seem to be taking all this pretty well for being new. [Jigen is almost jealous. He wish he could take all this as easily.]

I see... Every month, hm? Now that you mentioned I saw a lot of people around that were just as confused as me when I first "woke up" here. Guess we were this month's batch.

I guess I'm just an adaptable guy. [Or better at not showing that things get under his skin.]

Yeah, it seems to happen in waves, from what the knights said. For them it's routine to go looking for people at that time of month, and that's why we were conveniently rescued instead of left out on a moon to die.

That's a good thing though. [Both being adaptable and not letting things get to you very easily.]

Certainly would suck if I were to be dragged from home just to roam around a moon to die. [He already survived so much that would be a really lame way to go.]

Those knights that rescue the folks who are stranded on the moon, what else do they do around here?

Uh... Regular knight stuff?

[Though maybe knights aren't so regular in his world compared to Yuri's, so he'll go ahead and elaborate.]

They protect the public, keep the peace, guard their fancy research and government buildings, protect the royal family... Stuff like that.

Hm... So they are like the police force here, in a way? [OK, something Jigen needs to keep his eyes on. Sure he's already planning on not doing anything that may cause folks to figure out he's a criminal, but it's good to know who's the law enforcement here.]

I guess as long as folks are not in their way they'll just leave them be, hm?

But if you get on their bad side too much you get tossed in the Lightless. I don't wanna think about what kind of crazy bastards they have down there.
