I know this is probably a bit of a stupid question, but I'm actually mildly curious. And you know what they say: 'curiosity killed the cat'.

So, my birthday is tomorrow and I'm turning eighteen, finally. . . To be honest, birthdays aren't as big of a deal, which is why I want to know if there's anything special that people do for their eighteenth? Or just birthdays in general.

I'm interested in how other worlds celebrate, after all.

It's not like 18 is a big thing over back home, since the age of adulthood is 20.

I'm pretty sure this world is way past caring about what our country considers 'adult' anyway.

Live in a medieval country for a while and age starts feeling weirder and weirder, though. It's basically just a number.

I personally don't think that "it's just a number" is any excuse, however. At least for this sort of thing. If you don't properly understand the situation you're in, you'll wind up getting in a whole world of trouble if you just see things like that. Or if you're from a world where there's no concept of that sort of thing, or even a world where it can be easily be misinterpeted.

People like that can be manipulated and that's honestly shitty.

Yeah, couldn't argue with any of that. I was thinking of the difference between 18 and 20, or wherever.

Of course some people will pretty much take advantage of anyone or anything, regardless. Better to not even give them the chance.

But yeah. I try not to. Although some things can't be helped.

Anyway, what I was trying to say is its your birthday no matter what age you are, and you might as well try to enjoy yourself if you can.
