I know this is probably a bit of a stupid question, but I'm actually mildly curious. And you know what they say: 'curiosity killed the cat'.

So, my birthday is tomorrow and I'm turning eighteen, finally. . . To be honest, birthdays aren't as big of a deal, which is why I want to know if there's anything special that people do for their eighteenth? Or just birthdays in general.

I'm interested in how other worlds celebrate, after all.

[And on the day of, Haru is a-knock-knock-knocking on the door of the address she's been given.

She's carrying a bag full of freshly baked bread from the bakery near her home and some high-quality tea leaves she'd found, as well as some vegetables from her garden.]

[ And Inaba does eventually open the door and while it might be her birthday, she's in pretty basic stuff, a black sweater and jeans. ]

Hey, feel free to come in.

Thank you, Inaba-chan! [Haru, of course, is in a customary pink cardigan and tights underneath a skirt, or at least as close to the shade she likes as she can find in this world.

Blacks... she should wear more blacks. Blacks never go out of style.] Thank you for welcoming me into your home, and happy birthday!

[She holds the bag behind her, as though it's meant to be a surprise, though it's not very well concealed.]

Um, I actually got you some things! Is there a place where you'd like me to put them?

No, thanks for coming. And thanks. I live with someone else, but he's not here at the moment, and it shouldn't be an issue if he does come back.

[ She sound rather appreciative and it shows in her light tone and even how she seems to smile at Haru. ]

Anyway, it's not that big of a place, but feel free to put them on the table next to the couch.

[gracile]

Hmm-hmm, all right then! [She enters, taking off her shoes and padding over to the indicated table.] I'm a little jealous that you have a roommate... I live by myself and it can be a little lonely sometimes!

[And a boy, too? How bold, Inaba.

She sets the bag on the table.] There's some fresh bread in there, and some homegrown vegetables, and some tea! I figured it was a safer gift than coffee.

I understand that a lot, actually. Since I didn't have a roommate for a while.

[ But she honestly doesn't care much about gender since she's been in a boy's body before, not to mention it isn't as if they're staying in the same room together. ]

And thanks, I appreciate it. I'm not much of a chef, but maybe I can use some of these in curry?

[gracile]

I think they'd be quite good in curry! They're not exactly the same as the vegetables we have back home, but they're quite tasty nonetheless.

[She straightens up, clapping her hands in front of her.] Have you had many others over today to celebrate your big day?

[dereban]

Haha, yeah. Guess I'd have to experiment a little bit.

[ She laughs sheepishly before shaking her head. ] Nah, not too many people, honestly. Not that I'm necessarily displeased.

[gracile]

Well, whatever you wind up doing, please let me know! I'd be delighted to learn more about how this place's veggies go in food.

[Haru rocks from her heel to toe.] So...

...what else would you like to do? I'm sorry, I'm not entirely used to celebrating a friend's birthday.
