[Well all of that doll nonsense was, you know. Fun.

But it's over now, so moving on! Out of sight, out of mind!

Oona appears on the network, around 10 books scattered around her. From the looks of the covers, they're all very trashy ridiculous romance novels. Oona sits on the floor in the middle of them, one in her hand and opened somewhere in the middle, but her expression is a bit disappointed and exasperated]

Human books are so strange! Like stories and such-- really like romance. There is so many! But so weird. Want to read romance, but keep talking about gardens!

[Wait what.

She looks disappointedly at the book again and sighs deeply.] Where did she get flowers from, so sudden? Why is he stroking 'quivering flower petals'? [UH] Or rubbing buds? [oona wait--]

And! Man keeps suddenly having hard swords? They stab, but girls like? So weird! Is all such nonsense! [ooNA NO.

She tosses the book none-too-gently over her shoulder and rests her elbow on her knee, chin in hand, pouting.]

Tell me better stories.

[She finally finds what she's looking for and flips through the dog-eared paged until she finds what she's looking for and waves the book in emphasis]

In this one, gave pearl necklace to lover! Do not know where it came from, it was not there before, but suppose is just bad writing or writer forgot. [She trails off, scanning the page as if trying to figure out where this mysterious "pearl necklace" came from before she seems to remember she was bringing this up for a reason.

She quickly faces the screen again excitedly] Moran! Give pearl necklace too!

[i'm SORRy]

[It's only due to ten years of political experience and twenty years of basically living in a place where most people are just waiting for a weakness to stab you int he back that Moran manages to - mostly - keep the shock off his face.

But he does blink rapidly for a few seconds, and looks away with a sigh.]

Lady Oona, it's not... it's not an actual pearl necklace.

I mean, if you do wish for one, I can find one for you, but that is not what it refers to in the book you are reading.

[She looks confused and looks at the book again, staring at the pages with a furrowed brow and look of utmost concentration.

But it's going to take her too long to parse through it and she gives up, lowering the book with a sigh.] ...Head hurts.

[She hasn't figured out what it's supposed to actually be referring to, but she can examine it all later. Instead she pouts at him]

Why must humans be so confusing? Is it fun, for your kind? Ahh, like having stories in this way, can not be so easily forgotten or changed. But so much work... [A work she likes putting in anyhow because the reward is greater than the amount of time she wastes trying to get through them, but still.]

Well, it is supposed to be poetic and evocative... at least when it is done well. The idea is to stimulate the imagination by only suggesting and giving images.

As I said, when done well, it can be powerful and extremely erotic. However...

[He very much doubts those are the works of great poets. He caught a glimpse of the cover of the book while she was flipping through it.]

Those are probably not the best example of it to be honest, but that is not their purpose. They are mean to be titillating.

['When done well,' is right. Oona snorts and looks at the books] These are not done well. [She'll admit to that, in complete agreement.

She shrugs a little and smiles] But they are fun in own way. Will just have to keep finding more! Must be some books that are not terrible.

There is some appeal in it, or they would not be so popular.

Maybe I'll try to see if I see any good ones at the library. Although the language might be flowery too, just... differently.

Suppose that is true... [She still seems skeptical though, eyeing the books.

There's an easy grin] If Moran says it is good, then I will read anything! [Which makes her think of another question she's curious to ask] What do you like to read?

Hmmmm... a little bit of everything. Poetry is a favorite to relax, and I really enjoy the Shi Jing. Although ancient classical texts are always good to go back to when in need. The Rites of Zhou and the Spring and Autumn Annals are excellent, and the Analects of Confucius are of course a must read....

[You might want to interrupt him, Oona, or he'll never stop.]

[She has absolutely no idea what he's talking about, but he seems to enjoy talking about it, so for a good couple minutes she's content to just watch him with a little smile. It's cute that he's into it! She supports you Moran.

But after a moment she sort of huffs and waves her hand] Is any I can read? [because that all sounds incredibly complicated. She suddenly perks up with an idea] Oh! Or, can read to me!

... of course, if you enjoy poetry or political science and philosophy... but I am unsure any of those texts can be found here. I will need to find out first with the libraries. I have found a few interesting volumes before.
