[How the hell is she almost twice his age? She must be like the queen, then. Seriously, some women...]
Isn't that just giving people another thing to worry about?

I would assume at least 80% of the population will infer it as a joke. The other 20% will just have to come see me to be educated otherwise. ♥
How are you, Naofumi?

[Of course, he thinks the whole thing is hillarious, but that's his secret.]
The same as ever, which is fine I guess.

I will take a "fine I guess", though that sounds like you could do with a bit of holiday cheer. Do you have any preferences for winter holidays? I wonder if Raphtalia wouldn't be interested in things like decorating a tree in lights and baubles.

Personally, we haven't done much past cake and fried chicken since I was a kid, but I wonder if she wouldn't like the whole western style holiday? She'd probably have fun, as long as nobody told her it was for kids...

Ah, that's right, you're Japanese— I'm used to the naming structures but I've met so many here from different places with similar naming styles, and the way you and Raphtalia speak of what sounds like a fantasy world always leads me to forget. It's a bit more of a couple's holiday there, no?
Who says it's for kids? In Europe it's for absolutely everyone. The only aspect geared towards children is the stories of Saint Nicholas (or Santa Klaus). The gift-giving permeates through everyone, but the extra touch for good behavior with those stories does help keep the children more magical and well-behaved through the winter.

No, she's just got a bit of a complex about it, I think. She gets mad about anything that sounds too 'childish' whether it really is or not. But as long as nobody says anything one way or the other, I think she'd probably like it.
I might need to ask about some of the details, though. I've seen plenty of department stores lit up, but I have no idea how to decorate for myself.

As for that complex, it sounds as though she wants you to recognize her maturity more than anything. If I understood her correctly, she grew up quite fast, no? Was she with you during that time?
I'll always be around if you'd like to ask, but really, the important thing about the holiday is making it your own— the tree is traditional, and string lights are very festive for the warmth and glitter added, but what you pick out is entirely up to you. Any ornaments that catch your eye or remind you of a moment spent together, or something in your shared history, or even just in your favorite colors. It's about building memories together you can revisit year after year.
