Lunatia is so very different from my homeland. I wonder if there are others who have never seen such things as they have seen here.

To those who have been here for some time, does it ever begin to feel like home? What makes a place home?

Almost everything was new to me when I arrived which was very exciting.

This place will be what you make of it. It is not my home, and I need to go back, but I will live well here in the meantime.

There is much to learn here, that is true.

There is, but a large part of the machines tend to make life much easier. I recommend trying to make sure you know how they work.

The quality of the tea is unfortunately abysmal, which is a tragedy.

Nie Huaisang showed me how to use the... machine that controls the living quarters.

Oh, you are an acquaintance of Sect Leader Nie, are you? Quite an excitable young man, really. But I believe he has been here for a while. He should be able to show you around.

I do take it from your words you are recently arrived yourself, but not without companions.

(( Excitable is one way to describe Sect Leader Nie. Song Lan can think of a few other words, but none are relevant to the current topic of conversation. ))

It's not hat he's never considered the possibilities, it's simply that he hasn't wanted to entertain it. But of course, it would be logical that this could happen. And thankfully he's been lucky so far.]

I do hope that won't be a big inconvenience. The Moon Knights frown on personal vendettas.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope for your sake it can continue this way without impacting you too much.

[Honestly, Moran has no idea what he would do if anyone from Orion land showed up. It would be quite the conundrum.]

(( Zichen nods, inwardly pleased to meet someone with that particular mindset. While Song Lan himself places little value on such things, he lives in a society that does. To him, all should be judged on their character and deeds, not the happenstance of their birth. ))

[He's sensible and practical, Song Lan. He has no qualms about pulling rank when it can serve him, but he also know when it would be counter-productive.]

I would like that very much. I am afraid I have not yet found anything with which to occupy my time.

Occupation not being tied to revenue, you have time to think of what to do. You have been shown what to do to get enough money, have you?

I am aware of what must be done.

(( A bit problematic for a mysophobe, but he has friends here, so it won’t be absolutely intolerable. ))

Since you have acquaintances here, they will be happy to help, I am sure.

But in case of need, some establishments will procure, with a modest fee.

I do not believe that will be necessary.

(( Visiting such an establishment, he means. He is certain that Xiao Xingchen's promise and Lan Xichen's generosity will keep him from dire circumstances while remaining within Song Lan's comfrot zone. ))

I am not fond of being touched by others. I will rely on those I know well.

Ah yes, in that case that is certainly better.

Do keep in mind though, that some situations may require some give you Chroma urgently. One of my friends is way too stubborn about this.

This has happened. I am very fortunate that someone happened across me when they did. I knew him then only by reputation. I think we have become friends since then.

(( A curious look comes over his features. ))

Does your friend frequently have urgent need for chroma?

Frequently, I do not know. There was a fight, and the use of certain abilities consumes Chroma.

Come to think of it, he is a cultivator as well, I believe. Although I think he... summons his weapons? is that the appropriate term?

(( Zichen ponders the phrasing. In a way, it could be seen like that. They summon the spirits of their weapons. But if he means to literally summon… ))

Can you please clarify what you mean when you say ‘summon’?

I am... not quite sure actually. I haven't seen him actually do it. This is simply the term that he used.

He seemed to imply it requires energy and one of his weapons needs more than the other.
