Good evening, whoever opts to read this.

My name is Pidonus Marasia, and I'm new to this place. Like a lot of people, it seems. Is it normal for people to show up in batches like this? There was something similar on the previous world I'd been pulled to.

Which, yeah. That's also a thing, this isn't the only world that does that. Nor the only one that makes you lose almost all of your equipment in the process. Really annoying for an adventuring bard to be down to one old instrument and one weapon.

Anyways. I've got, uh. A lot of questions. I kind of get higher technology than what existed on my home world, the kinda place where the crossbow was a hot new thing, but that plus a city of a scale I can barely process is. A thing.

The culture that logically forms from that is so unlike anything I've ever known that I'm not even sure where to start.

So I'm going to try to just guess, with a few ideas like this.

1) Any ideas for things to do? Extra challenge, stuff that's good at night when most people are asleep? I kinda. Don't need sleep, so that's something I have to account for.
2) Any ideas on how to meet people? This network's a neat start, but it's not the same as in-person contact.
3) ... Any advice for someone cautious about deep contact with people?

I guess board games can be neat... When they don't cause terrible fights.

Other than that, I just. Haven't had the chance for a lot? That's a big part of the problem.

Board Games? What are those? I don't think I've ever heard of that.

Just games played by a few people around a table of various stripes, I think? Various materials and such but..

What kind of games? This sounds like a lot of fun, maybe we can play some together sometime!

I experienced a few different sorts back in the Rift....

As for what's here, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a store for it SOMEWHERE on this particular rock.

I'll have to ask Rin if he knows of any. I'm sure this is something he probably has in his own world.

Of course, we'd need to see what's available locally... Or I guess use that wolf shop place?

If all else fails, then that would probably be the most reliable way to get some of the games you're familiar with. I'm sure this place probably has some, though. It's a lot more in line with Rin's world than mine.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of that sorta thing, where many worlds are more related to one another than not. Then there's the places that are more out there, like mine and apparently yours.

A quirk of the multiverse, perhaps?

Perhaps! Mine definitely has different technology. It's not completely without it, it's just very different and not as plentiful. Rin's has a lot more, though, and it's really fun to learn about! He's still teaching me how to use this phone they gave us when we got here.

Bardic knack saved my ass when it came to working these things, honestly.

Also discovering what kinds of fabrics can work with a touchscreen and changing my gloves to match. I like my gloves.

You're able to change the fabric of your gloves? That's cool.

Some of my abilities are honestly pretty neat!

They just come with a lot of complicated emotional baggage.

Oh? Can you tell me about some of the ones that aren't as emotional baggage-y?

[have_hat_will_travel]

It's not necessarily the abilities themselves, so much as that they're the result of a past person making a horrible mistake that created me, I'm not sure I truly honored her sacrifice, and years of abuse.

Plus the powers are supposed to theoretically all center around lust and this place gives me a very different perspective on that.

Oh.

Yeah, I'd guess that this place would be good at doing that.

Yeaaaah. It's a very sexually and sensually open society, whereas I'm from one that was closed enough that it was kinda sorta empowering for me because the sense of 'taboo' literally made people afraid to consider how to deal with someone like me???

So then ... You miss having that kind of power? Is that right?

[have_hat_will_travel]

I'm.... Not sure.

Like, nothing I can do doesn't work here. But the basis that makes it so effective? That's different.

And even then... I'm not sure I'd want to use any of those abilities.

Oh. Well, at least you have time to figure that out? These places tend to keep you here for a while usually.

You're a multi-time kidnappee too, huh?

[spiria]

Yeah. I'd say 'unfortunately,' but I did meet my boyfriend in the first place I got taken to, so it's not been entirely bad.

... Girlfriend in my case, but same here. Thus the downer factor of being here...

I take it your girlfriend didn't make the trip?

I'm sorry. I got kind of lucky. I did end up going home before coming here, but at least Rin and I were able to reunite here.
