Okay so... I've been thinking of doing this for a bit now.

But anytime I mention that I'm a Gem I usually have to explain things to people so I thought "Why not make a network thing that anyone can come and ask me things"? So, yeah.

Oh, no I'm not unique. Lapis Lazulis are, or were, needed to terraform planets so there are a good number of us around.

I still can use water as a weapon, yes. But I don't do the terraforming thing anymore.

... It wasn't anything like that, it was preparing conquered worlds for Gem colonies.
