Okay so... I've been thinking of doing this for a bit now.

But anytime I mention that I'm a Gem I usually have to explain things to people so I thought "Why not make a network thing that anyone can come and ask me things"? So, yeah.

I'm a Gem, like the stones, ask me things?

That's my friend who I was talking about, by the way. I'm sorry if he ends up coming up as...rude, he really doesn't mean any harm.

He's been raised as an artist all of his life and sometimes what we would consider common sense is an alien concept to him. But his heart is in the right place, I promise.

But I'm guessing your world doesn't have Gem-gems and just has not alive gems so, I'm not mad at him.

We don't, it's true.

Even other humans can find him bizarre sometimes. I'm glad you aren't...despite of how he might act, he's an amazing artist. Or maybe that's why he's an artist.

Well, maybe it's a little of both as to why he's so uh... Unique.

I like to think that sometimes he's an old man stuck in the body of a teenager, and I mean that in the best of ways. I think it's partly because of how he was raised...he didn't get to interact with others quite the same and his mind was mostly dedicated to art.

He's one of my best friends.

He seems like he'd be a very very interesting best friend to have.

Aren't all best friends interesting to have? That's what makes them the best, isn't it?

If you let him talk about art, however, I can't promise he'll stop.

I guess so, or else they'd just be friends.

I noticed, he seemed to be enjoying himself while he was doing it though?

Right.

[Good! Smiling is important!]

He does! He was raised, molded and shaped by it, after all. He might seem a little dense sometimes like I said, but he'll never stop talking about art. The trick is just to know that he never means to be ill-willed unless he outright says it.

[Really she just finds it a bit off to go on about CRUSHING UP GEMS FOR PAINT, but she won't harp on about it instead...]

Me? Well I guess as the owner of a small cafe, I'd have to ask if gems from your world eat?

Gems don't need to eat or drink, we can if we want to and I've been trying it out. But we don't get energy or anything from it like organics do.
