[Perne has chosen to address the happenstance (i.e., being in Lunatia) with a great deal of professionalism. At least, as much as she can muster given the situation. Her device is propped up on a very standard table in what is likely her apartment. She sits in front of it, posture prim and proper.
Evidently she has been bracing herself for this particular conversation and even if she's not confident in having it, her tone remains even. Again, professionalism. Or at least the closest thing to it.]
It is to mine knowledge that this 'network' is capable of reaching all of those possessing the same device—in short, those of us referred to as Moonblessed individuals.
Some of you I have already had the esteemed privilege to meet. For those of you with whom I am not yet acquainted, I am Lady Perne de Archevauliere. Simply 'Perne' shall suffice if you have need to address me by name.
[Her posture is already straight, but it doesn't stop her from trying to straighten up even more. Her hands linger beneath the table, undoubtedly betraying her fidgeting as a means to keep such from creeping into her relatively stern expression.]
I have been adequately informed on the situation at hand facing all of us in the same role. Given the nature of this place, its currency and its resource, I have an interest in making an accord. That is to say, I am seeking voluntary candidates for this 'Moonlacing' that must needs occur. I have no interest in informal or inappropriate proceedings under such pretences. As such, mine standards for who I will accept will need to be met in full and to mine satisfaction before I shall consider any such agreement or accord to be in effect.
You may meet with me in person if you care to and do not trust me via visual. Mine requirements do not, however, require this to be part of the initial process.
[She might as well be hiring for a job with the way she discusses it. Who knows. Maybe she'll lighten up in time, but considering how stubborn and bullheaded she can sometimes be... mayhaps not.]

get a load of this chick
[ Poor Perne. It's not her fault this post brings about G-rated flashbacks of Winter Schnee's 20 minute presentation of terms and negotiations for moonlacing. Anyhow sounds like she'll be into his tight-laced military friends. ]

What. Finesse? Class? Some form of respect that would allow ignorance in place of mockery? (She can't actually tell if she's being mocked or not, but assumes it's safer to conclude she will face a good deal of ridicule for her approach.)]
I am incapable of determining if your response is sincere or sarcastic.
[She indulged herself in the deepest of sighs before responding. Freaking Qrow.]
Greetings, Lady Perne. I am Winter Schnee. In the interest of not wasting your time, I am not attracted to women. I only wish to commend your efforts in fostering communication and being clear about your expectations and boundaries. You will find those who are willing and able to respect your wishes, so do not settle for less.

[...Perne has so many questions. So many of them that she chooses not to voice because she supposes at the end of the day, the answers don't actually matter. It doesn't stop her, however, from looking incredibly sceptical over the concept of both well-intended rudeness (which just sounds like an excuse someone would give a man back in Ishgard for uncouth behaviour) and some kind of unseen requirement that attraction of some sort comes into play when it involves holding hands (but then to be fair, the most enamoured look Perne's ever given has very likely been to a plant, so mayhaps she can't judge).]
It would appear that I am not the first to issue such specifications.
[At least, this appears to be the implication. It does offer her a subtle sense of relief, if that's what Winter was intending.]
no subject
[And Winter has no desire to have her old post dragged out yet again, so she's simply choosing not to discuss it.]
You may consider me a resource if you harbor any questions or concerns.

Rather, she's yet again unsure of how to take such courtesy upfront. Once more the other Moonblessed have largely presented themselves as surprisingly helpful. What could possibly be the catch?]
I confess to having been largely interested in the experiences of others here. How would you describe your time here? That is not exclusively meant for Moonlacing. Given the nature of such, it is feasibly a private matter and I have no intention to intrude there. Rather, I am interested in your experience as a whole. Is it a commonality for the Moonblessed already present to be so generous with their information?
no subject
My experiences are...varied. I feel I've been able to grow personally as a result of the opportunities here, opportunities I wouldn't have had I remained on my world. But there are hardships too, that have tested my fortitude. Weathering the difficulties is significantly easier once you've gained a few trusted friends.
[Even the rude ones. ...Especially the rude ones, honestly.]
At times, yes, it's common. I've found some to be less helpful than others.
no subject
I feel as if I have found a variety of extremes. It does not appear people here possess a middle-ground over their presence. Either they are displeased by the happenstance or they have adapted remarkably well. The latter is quite impressive, all things considered. [Foreign world. Foreign customs. Foreign traditions. No luxuries from home—to Perne's knowledge. The ability to adapt in an effort to survive without resorting to mass mayhem, chaos, and brute force is nothing to laugh at.] I would suspect that the variable of circumstances is to be held accountable for such.
[Her head tips in contemplation.]
I have already asked several of mine questions to others and answers received have been similar, so I shall not use your time to repeat them. I deeply appreciate your direct demeanour, however, and your invitation. Kindness is not what I anticipated in mine arrival, admittedly. I believe it shall take some time to grow accustomed to.

If you are the same way in person as you are in written word, then mayhaps your demeanour and how you approach others is to be considered a responsible party. Either way, you are direct enough that I should think if you meant to be insulting, you would simply be so. I suspect you are not well-versed in subtleties.
[Which basically means, she's going to take what he said sincerely, not as sarcasm.]
no subject
[ ...and sometimes those he does not, but that aside.
As for whether or not he's mastered subtlety... he'll leave that one for her to decide. In his (previous?) line of work, it is far safer to be underestimated. ]

[A pause. Surely he has a name to go with such a direct means of speech. To be fair, Perne appreciates that, however. There's no sense in such underhanded tactics, even if she might employ those from time to time.]

I would also like to apologize for my friend's tone, as I'm afraid he isn't used to speaking with anyone holding rank or title. At least, not very kindly.
It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Perne. I am General James Ironwood from a kingdom called Atlas; I also had the pleasure of being the Headmaster of the Academy that we taught our children at. I'm sure others have already told you and I hope it will be a relief to know that the moonlacing this place requires can remain fairly chaste.
I do hope you'll find suitable partners who will meet your requirements.
( He doesn't look as though he'd offer, but if she happens to show any particular interest, far be it from him to turn her away; he's still quite critical of himself, is all. The lady is owed an apology and that was all he intended to deliver, But You Know. ✨ )

His reassurances do not go unappreciated.]
A privilege, I assure you, Master Ironwood. [A general, however. Indicating militia of a sort, quite likely in defence to the Atlas in question. Although the mention of an academy... Mayhaps a military training academy? She has questions, but it's hardly the right time to be asking them.] I am grateful for your input.
It would be with false tongue I spoke if I were to claim I was not particular and that may not curry much in the way of favour. I have not established mineself here long enough to determine who may or may not be appropriate and I suspect it shall take some time yet. In spite of this, I am resourceful when necessary. I should think I shall be able to make way until I am better acquainted with those here.

For now, he's charming enough, just a touch casual to offset his clear enunciation and learned, sharp in a way that speaks to hard work instead of natural ability. He's far from anything resembling nobility or knightship, leaning closer towards political navigation than propriety. He's good at speaking to a good many types of people for at least a certain amount of time. )
Please, just James is plenty. I don't hear it often enough, so I'm likely to forget without some assistance.
( She is correct on many assumptions, though slightly off with the academy— close, but a touch more unique in his world. She can ask some time and he'll explain, as it's nothing too complicated or top secret. She is certainly regal, however, and beautiful— though that was without question. Her ears were unique and her features finer than he's used to seeing on much of anyone, even the Faunus, but he's learned that there are just as many different worlds and people in this place as there are anything else. )
I'm happy to be of service. And I'm sure there are plenty willing to bend to the will of a lady as lovely as yourself, so I wouldn't worry terribly about anyone's favor. I've only just arrived some weeks back and likely don't have the best grasp myself, but if you ever find yourself in need of company or someone to venture out with, I hope you'll think of this old soldier.
( Not that she likely needs his protection or anything of the sort, but it's about as bold as he can be to offer himself for company over coffee or tea, or an opening for anything else. )
no subject
Well. As stated. Familiar.
Perne frees a breath, dipping her head in a subtle acknowledgement, though she doesn't make effort to say his name again. She might have to practise it in private first.]
That is quite a kindness to extend to offer to someone you are not familiar with. How do you know I am not merely meaning to take advantage of your generosity? [She doesn't intend to, admittedly. That sort of thing is reserved for self-defence when it's necessary. A beautiful individual can oft be the most dangerous sort and Perne is not... without her dangers. Time will tell what those are.]
This may not be something you can answer for me since you have only recently arrived as well, but are there any places you enjoy visiting whilst here? [Is it a nervous tic or a subconscious wiggle of the ears betraying Perne's adoration for the acquisition of knowledge? She already knows about the library, which she's dying to go visit. And one can't forget the assortment of flora in the area...]
no subject
There are few enough things to take advantage of, here; my generosity is a forgivable enough offense that I'll take the chance with. There are worse outcomes than time spent with a beautiful woman who allows me to buy her a hot drink and accompany her wherever she wishes to go, even if it's the quarters of another beau. I would get you there safely.
( He's teasing, of course, because surely she wouldn't need anything nearing that, but his offer for company and drinks is sure to be legitimate. As for the question: )
Oh, I've found a couple of nice places to sit down for coffee or to eat. Many of the people I knew from home are here and pointed me in the right direction. Or were you looking for scenery to admire? The Groves were quite beautiful, with plenty of wildlife within.
( OhhhhHHHHHHHH NOOOO???? Her ears are wiggling... She seems excited, brighter-eyed and interested. How sweet... )

[ James would thank him for just being his usual nuisance self. But, it is nice to know that this newcomer will be sorted out by people he very much trusts to do it right.
After all, there are a lot of weirdos on this network. ]
