[Perne has chosen to address the happenstance (i.e., being in Lunatia) with a great deal of professionalism. At least, as much as she can muster given the situation. Her device is propped up on a very standard table in what is likely her apartment. She sits in front of it, posture prim and proper.
Evidently she has been bracing herself for this particular conversation and even if she's not confident in having it, her tone remains even. Again, professionalism. Or at least the closest thing to it.]
It is to mine knowledge that this 'network' is capable of reaching all of those possessing the same device—in short, those of us referred to as Moonblessed individuals.
Some of you I have already had the esteemed privilege to meet. For those of you with whom I am not yet acquainted, I am Lady Perne de Archevauliere. Simply 'Perne' shall suffice if you have need to address me by name.
[Her posture is already straight, but it doesn't stop her from trying to straighten up even more. Her hands linger beneath the table, undoubtedly betraying her fidgeting as a means to keep such from creeping into her relatively stern expression.]
I have been adequately informed on the situation at hand facing all of us in the same role. Given the nature of this place, its currency and its resource, I have an interest in making an accord. That is to say, I am seeking voluntary candidates for this 'Moonlacing' that must needs occur. I have no interest in informal or inappropriate proceedings under such pretences. As such, mine standards for who I will accept will need to be met in full and to mine satisfaction before I shall consider any such agreement or accord to be in effect.
You may meet with me in person if you care to and do not trust me via visual. Mine requirements do not, however, require this to be part of the initial process.
[She might as well be hiring for a job with the way she discusses it. Who knows. Maybe she'll lighten up in time, but considering how stubborn and bullheaded she can sometimes be... mayhaps not.]

How goes the Moonlacing partner applications?
[He says ever pleasant and well-meaning. Or at least on the surface. Honestly he's just so amused by her.]
no subject
They are not 'applications,' Master Bishop, but rather an assessment of the city's population in proper. This is not merely a means of making accord, but rather of making acquaintance and observation of the inhabitants. It grants me opportunity to witness conversation, posturing, motives, incentives, and so on. People are more than simply their words, but how they deliver such concepts. And sometimes, it is not what they are saying that holds the true importance, but rather what they are not.
[Ever the keen observer, Perne seems to have had multiple reasonings for her approach and as ever the typical, it's subtle, evasive, and not terribly upfront, something that will come to be expected from the young woman in question.]
However, as you can see, I continue to function as expected.

[He was honestly a little worried, and still is, about her Chroma situation. He himself isn't a big fan of getting cozy in the sack with a female then taking off, but he isn't above hand holding at least so he manages to cope.]
And how is your assessment of the populace? Anyone seem like a trustworthy sort?
Re: Audio, un: magicowl
[The truth is, regardless of what she says, or how open she seems that she is, Perne will hold everyone at a distance because that is the kind of person she is. It's quite easy to portray one thing and be something else entirely and she's had an entire lifetime to practise and perfect that art.]
It will require more observation and more time. Fortunately, the latter appears to be something I hold in spades, as it were. I cannot fathom that I shall be lacking.
no subject
Out of curiosity, have you identified which moon cycle you should be wary of?
[While she says she doesn't think she'll be lacking, a certain moon can change that need.]
no subject
Hm... Nay. Not as of yet. Although if I may, it seems wisest to simply be wary of all the moon cycles. Understandably it affects everyone in different ways, yet I would rather err on the side of caution. An acquaintance I met during the Firalia celebration explained to me that there are also people here who may have blessings beneath a particular moon cycle, but may not experience the effects deeply.
[She still remembers how Takame looked when he told her, too. Was that pity she saw? Sympathy? Empathy? She can't say for certain.]
Not that I should think I am privileged to experience this, but it issues some hope for the situation.
no subject
[It's a very particular 'oh', traditionally followed by a 'no'. Oh Perne.]
...Fuck.
[He wonders if learning this is just part of his karma? Damn his moral compass and legitimate care for others.]
no subject
What are you getting in a row over? You have been here longer than I have. Surely you already knew of that.
Logic dictates that regardless of what moon cycle one may be beneath, it is imperative to be wary of the others as well. Just because it is not affecting you does not mean that it may not inadvertently do so. We should not only be watching ourselves, yet those around us.
[No, really. She doesn't get it, which probably comes as no surprise.]
no subject
Ummmmm...Lady Perne, I really, REALLY suggest you find out which moon you're aligned to. Like...a NOW kind of suggestion.
[He really really hopes she doesn't put two and two together and figures out he forgot something pretty darn important.]
no subject
[He's annoying her with his lack of information. She can't research anything if she doesn't know about it. And whilst she's thought it would be a good idea to have some kind of tome on arrival that details the living situation of Lunatia, that doesn't exist yet to her knowledge. (Although she's quickly beginning to think she ought to pen it and leave it in Level 1's academy building.]
Give voice to your thoughts. Now, please. Preferably using vocabulary I will understand.

If you're assigned to red moon you'll end up wanting to fight and become quick to anger. It's from the first to the fifth of each month. If you're with the blue moon, you burn through Chroma twice as fast over little things. It's from the sixth to the the tenth and I really really really hate it cause my owl form gets a cat's backside and I can't fly and makes me really sad cause I like flying. The purple moon I have no idea what it does other than make people really easily aroused. That's from the eleventh to the sixteenth I think, and then all three are in the sky for a few days. And that's all I know which I forgot to mention before!
[A beat.]
Shit! Why did I say that?!
[Also why does he feel like he's being mugged?]
no subject
In truth, she almost doesn't want to hear about the details because it would be easier to read it than to have to maintain contact with someone for awkward conversation. Or maybe that's Perne preferred fondness for books over people.
He can't see it, but she cocks an eyebrow, and suspects that probably leaks into her voice.]
You sound mad. [Not the angry sort, but certainly a few sandwiches short of a picnic. To say nothing of cat and owl fiascos.] Some of that I was already aware of, for you are the one who told me originally. However, you said I should establish which moon I happen to be under and mine question is a simple one, though the answer may not be so. How am I to know? I have not experienced anything yet except a lack of patience for unanswered questions. And according to Master Takame, I may not experience anything. It makes it a little difficult to determine. All I know is to expect to obtain features that are not mine and behavioural changes that may or may not be mine.
[Either way, this is getting too convoluted for her tastes. Ironically, for such a complex woman, Perne isn't fond of complex situations. Usually.] I intend to let things happen as they may and I shall adapt on mine own terms. To lose sense of self would imply that I believe mineself to be a prisoner and I am no such thing. It would do you some good to regain yourself, as well.
no subject
If you haven't experienced one then you might not be for the red moon. [Maybe.] Red moon folks tend to have wolf features and are more aggressive. Do you feel anything like that?
[She also may hear the sound of a drink being poured and shortly after being drunk and poured once more.]
no subject
No. I have not felt anything unlike how I normally feel. [So resignation, displeasure, annoyance, and ice-like. In short, all things that embody Perne.]
Although if I should notice anything, I will be certain to tell you. I suspect if it differs from what I am accustomed to, I shall not have much difficulty recognising it.
no subject
[Lord knows that the Cordis moon cycle has nearly gone south for him a couple of times.]
I'm aligned to the blue moon, so Chroma is usually a problem for me at that time. I'm used to working under pressure but I'd hate for anyone else to be subject to that.
no subject
Well, if you find yourself curious, I shall inform you of mine moon once I have made just such a discovery.
[No matter what the case is, it'll be too late. Without knowing beforehand what she's been assigned, or which moon she's been claimed by, she can't properly prepare. But she is not incapable and adaptability is not lost on her. She's survived so far. She will continue to do as she must, she supposes. What more can she do.]
