[ Here's a Fish.
For those of you new to Fish, they're a very long, very slender androgynous merfolk with red hair and fins, lavender skin, and very bright blue eyes.
They're relaxing in a bathtub full of fizzing, opulent blue, violet, orange, and pink suds that seem to be sparkling in the video. Someone's been enjoying a bath bomb. And they've got a flute of what seems to be champagne, too. ]
A conversation with someone I met on the beach before the Firialia festivities put a question in my mind that's been lingering there for a bit...
If it isn't too personal, how do you feel about open relationships? Are you in one yourself?
I'm in one, and it's the best arrangement I feel for my lover and I with our personalities and lifestyles. So, I've been curious about how other people feel about this kind of thing.
[ They have a sip of their drink and crosses their legs in the water, exposing their knees above the psychedelic suds. ]

[Not that Rey is judging, despite her deadpan delivery. In general she prefers not to be seen when it comes to these devices.]
To answer your question, no, never considered it. Or any relationship, for that matter. [A lie. A definite, absolute and biggest fattest fucking lie and she knows it.]

Mm...! I mean, isn't this the best time to strike a question? Don't you get brilliant ideas when you're by your lonesome in a bathroom? To be honest, I just enjoy scrolling through the network when I'm having a long bath like this and the thought just occurred to me.
[ They sit back up to their original height, just all smiles and so very happy. ]
Well. That's fair. If you don't mind me asking, why haven't you considered any relationship?

Well. Guess you could've been worse about it. At least you weren't in the middle of taking a shit.
[Because scrolling the internet while on the toilet is one thing, broadcasting it would've been another.
[
now flush]Didn't really have time for it.
...Was probably for the best anyway, when living so many different lives. Now, am just living as one person -- don't really know what to do with that. Complicates things. Relationships, more complicated.
[Yeah, she's aware that most of those things would make little to no sense to someone you just met, but hell... Who doesn't do that nonsense?]
no subject
[They laugh.]
Anyway... different lives, you say? Absolutely sounds complicated. But, forgive me... how is that possible?
no subject
[Things Rey isn't remiss to admitting to total strangers -- that.]
You know. Different bodies, with different memories... different people, most who didn't have many incentives to get close to anyone or anything. Guess there's a simplicity to that. [Yet she's not too happy about it.]

Wasn't always like that. Used to just be one person at a time -- would forget the rest. Remembering it all at once is somewhat recent.
...
Needless to say, it took many years' worth of self-discovery to sort it all out, and still am having issues sometimes. Can barely figure myself out, let alone understand what other people want.
[Which boils back to relationships and having a complicated grasp of how to follow certain social cues. Most of those things just tend to fly over her head.]

[What a depressing thing to say for how nonchalant the words come out.]
Not meaning that in the "woe is me, life is miserable" kind of way. Just haven't been able to do a lot of things that most find joyful.

[You do you, Fish. But the soldier in Rey values keeping her feet nice and comfortable and on the ground.
[After a moment, she adds:]
Don't mind seeing other people dressed like that, though. It's... nice.
[She might not always pretty herself up, but she does like pretty things.]

[She's still getting used to the whole "need to touch people for money" deal, which leaves her a broke ass bitch most of the time.]

[The winter ball had one, but Rey has a feeling this isn't like that at all.]

Noted, though. [In truth, Rey likes having excuses to dress up when she can, much like the aforementioned opera... It's not something she gets to convince herself to do very often.]

[While Fish didn't immediately introduce themself, she caught the "friend of Fish" part to deduce what the person she's talking to is called. Odd name, but she's heard some weird ones before.
[And what the hell, right? Free drink and entry fee bypass is a sweet deal.]
