Hey, magic knowledgeable people, how possible is it on a scale of 1 to 100 that people who have a part of what used to be your body (nail clippings, hair, blood, antlers, scales, fur, feathers) could work some kind of magic on you, specifically, with it?

I mean, more how likely do you think it is that people here can do that? Especially as more Chroma's being absorbed back into the world.

[ BIG TRUST HERE yeah no he trusts him, he has no reason not to and while he might point out that wasn't confidence building, he's also not actually mistrustful of Josuke. ]

Sure, yeah. If I get lost, I'll send Murasame to you.

yes, when navigating to places he's not familiar with. it's a character flaw, okay, cities remain confusing! ]

[ and he does send his address! ]

so is murasame your pet?

[ He shows Murasame the address, and after they both painstakingly type it out on the device, a map eventually emerges. Shino glances at it, shrugs, and heads out, Murasame taking flight and landing periodically to indicate which direction they should be heading.

Truly, he has the better sense of direction here. ]

Not really, but he's been with me the last five years. More like a friend.

[ Or enemy? What do you call a living sword demon thing that resides within your self? Mostly, he doesn't bother getting to that point. ]

[ He's assuming that Shino is making his way over, so Josuke waits in his home for the guy to come. ]

so he's just a guy, huh? why did i think 'pet' ... hope he didn't see me saying that

well, if he did, tell him i'm sorry and stuff

[ En route, arrival pending...! ]

Even if he could, he'd have laughed. He's scouting ahead for me right now, he might show up before I do. If a crow comes knocking, be kind enough to let him in?

so he is a pet!! [ wait, a pet who laughs? ]

you know what? i don't even know anymore.
i'll go open a window and put the plant away

[ Just in case his cat-plant gets spooked by this crow and starts trying to blow Murasame up. ]

[ Meanwhile, Shino would not understand a certain stray cat plant at first or second glance, but look. Every world has bizarre logic. ]

I'm telling him to introduce himself. It'll make sense soon.

[ Or maybe it won't, but regardless, with the chance of a demon dog-dragon-crow not getting attacked by a cat-plant, thus turning around and wreaking havoc in response (cats vs dogs??? eternally???) Josuke is instead treated to a rather large crow, or a raven, or who even knows, coming to a landing on his sill and then hopping inside, turning his head to eye Josuke with one grumpy looking eye. ]

Josuke?

[ He's not a verbose demon most days, but right now he fluffs up his feathers and scans the room for someone other than the window to perch. He's met too many being partly caught in windows moments to want to stay in such a precarious location. ]

Shino isn't lost. He's coming.

[ There. He delivered useful information, and has decided to claim a chair for a perch, flapping toward it and landing with all due fanfare. He's already moved on to looking for things to eat... eyeing things which aren't even technically edible, if they're out on some nearby surface.

True to form, some five to ten minutes later, a knock at the door is accompanied by Shino calling out: ]

Josuke?

[ In a very different voice than Murasame, who sounds appropriately croaking and rough, but an exact echo of his damn demon bird. ]

[ That cat-plant has now been placed in the kitchen, and he continues to meow softly from where he is. He is, thankfully, at a safe distance and will not be blowing anyone up today. Josuke is left to deal with this very peculiar bird who's able to speak human language for some reason and looks eager for a snack. ]

When you say that, it sounds like he's lost. [ There's no need to assert that he isn't lost otherwise, right? Josuke follows the raven, picking anything potential inedible right out of his little bird hold. He won't have Shino's pet - or friend - poisoning himself right in Josuke's house. ] Not for you.

[ When Josuke does get the door, he has a loaf of sliced bread in his hand and he's preparing to toss a slice at Murasame. ] Hey, man. He eats bread, right?

[ While Murasame doesn't respond verbally, he gives the equivalent of a bird shrug, shifting his wings open a little and fluffing out his feathers before he returns to his investigations. He's being consistently thwarted, but rather than press the point, he shoots Josuke an annoyed look, checks out Crazy Diamond if he's around (and gives the stand a considering look, if so), then settles to preening himself in a very good play at attempting to look like a bird.

Up until there's bread involved, in which case he does a very good impression of a hungry animal, tracking Josuke's every move with his dark eyes and flapping closer.

Shino walks in to see Murasame pulling his best aerial jaws impression, Josuke holding bread of all things, and opens his mouth to say No. Then he catches himself, steps inside and bends to take off his shoes, shrugging his shoulders as he kneels down. ]

He can eat just about anything, but I prefer bread. It's fine, it's the weird stuff he tries to choke down that makes my stomach hurt.

[ Literally or figuratively? Hard to say. (Perhaps both.) ]

[ That's definitely a weird way to put it. Does Shino prefer that his bird eats bread over keys, or is he somehow able to taste whatever his bird is eating? Does his actual stomach hurt when his bird eats inedible things, or does it just make him cringe? It's hard to tell what he actually means.

In any case, the bird does look awful hungry, so Josuke hands him a slice. Should he give Shino some food too, because he said 'I prefer bread'? ]

You ... want some too? I could put peanut butter on it.

[ Shino more hates the idea, because as far as things get digested, they still digest. He can get uncomfortable if Murasame's eating weird stuff, but his constitution is so ridiculously good because Murasame's is that he doesn't actually get sick. Still, who wants a stomach full of demons? Or lintballs? Or whatever else a demon in the form of a bird finds interesting?

Murasame says: ]

Itadakimassssssssssu!

[ Because he's been with Shino long enough he sometimes remembers to have manners, then promptly uses one foot to hold the bread and tear into it piece by piece with his beak. Shino blinks, then raises his hands, shaking his head firmly. ]

No, I'm fine, I'm fine. What's peanut butter?

[ It's one of the foodstuffs he hasn't happened to deal with specifically; peanut sauces, sure, but not a butter of peanuts. (Or any other kind of nut. Or even... cookies.) ]

[ A talking crow is still kind of creepy, but he's also friends with a guy who's essentially a wolf on two legs, so it shouldn't even be that shocking. ]

You've really never had peanut butter? What kinda backwards world did you come from? [ Probably an old timey world, he assumes. Though his words come off a little rude, it's really only because Josuke's a blunt guy. His intentions are good. In fact, he goes to fetch the jar and starts spreading it over a slice of bread for Shino (or Murasame, if he ends up eating it instead) to try. ]

Here. It's pretty good.

final boss get

One without peanut butter.

[ He responds, more than a touch sarcastic, though there's no heat behind it. Still, who makes butter out of peanuts? Why is it in a jar? He watches the whole spreading thing, accepting the bread and sniffing it (Shino, why) ]

Thanks...

[ ... before he takes a hesitant bite. It's... dry... but not bad? The peanut butter doesn't taste like whatever he expected, and the novelty is interesting. If he likes it or not is undecided.

Murasame, already finished with his bread and with scattered crumbs all around him, is now eyeing Shino.

Intently. ]

Dunno what I was expecting, but this is different. Does it go with anything else, or is it mostly a bread thing?

[ The amount of bread here still throws him off, but he's adapted to it after all these months. ]

[nipzips]

[ Shino looks largely ambivalent about the taste, but that's fair. It probably is a strange thing to taste for the first time. ]

Mostly just bread. It'd be weird on anything else. [ Sometimes it's in chocolate, but peanut butter chocolate cups sound like something far too complicated for him to make. ]

... Your bird still looks hungry. [ At least, it's staring really, really intently at Shino. Here's hoping nobody is getting pecked at today. ]

[ Murasame, deciding to be helpful, agrees with Josuke: ]

I'm hungry!

[ Meanwhile, Shino doesn't look like he's really bothered, considering his rejoinder is: ]

You're greedy, it's not the same.

[ Then again, Murasame takes wing to flap on over to his shoulder, landing with more care than one might expect out of a bird his size, and leans his face down next to Shino's, getting fed a piece of the bread with a put-out sigh on Shino's part. He doesn't mind, considering it's not something like top grade beef that Shino's been looking forward to eating himself. Thus young man and not so young demon peacefully start sharing the rest of the peanut butter smeared slice. ]

Ah, right, thank you. For the bread, and for putting up with his begging.

[ A hooked thumb up at the bird on his shoulder. Murasame seems nothing close to apologetic. He does, however, fix Josuke with a stare, flaring his wings. ]
