[The video turns on to show a view of the apartments of Level 2 from what seems to be a fairly high vantage point looking down, as if the device is on a roof. While the user isn't visible on camera those familiar with Vanitas will probably recognize the doctor's voice.]

So many of you are fine with accepting that there's no way out of this place. Are you that easily distracted and complacent about being used by the Prismals? Do you just not have anything to go back to? Or maybe you just don't have something that this damned place is keeping you from doing...

[He laughs bitterly before stopping just as abruptly, voice dipping to almost a whisper.]

... Tch. Why am I wasting my breath?

[The video abruptly ends.]

That's falling into a pitfall all in itself, too, you know?

Never assume the answer is one way or another unless you have proof of it. A lack of admission is not the same as a confession.

While it's true they are taking advantage of the situation, it's not as if you have to do anything they say. Or, what? Are you expecting 'a way back' to just fall on your lap? Not putting in the work is the same thing as becoming complacent, in my opinion. It's giving up.

I've found that my instincts on people are seldom wrong, so until I find something convincing to indicate that they really are ignorant I'm inclined to continue following my convictions.

I've been "putting in the work" since I was brought here almost a year ago. But without specific ties higher up in the government they restrict any information that could pertain to us.

[Which is why he's been looking into less legal methods and connections. He's turned to crime for less.]

"Seldom wrong" isn't "always correct".

But if you haven't found any proof one way or another after being here for that long, then you aren't one to talk either, now are you?

I'm only saying only "seldom wrong" because one person exceeded my expectations.

I don't see why I need to go out of my way to prove anything when this whole situation is clearly suspicious.

Just because it's suspicious doesn't make thing easy or even simple.

Even if you put occam's razor in play here, I don't like the idea of someone assuming things out of the simple notion that it's just suspect.
