☽ III: video
[The video turns on to show a view of the apartments of Level 2 from what seems to be a fairly high vantage point looking down, as if the device is on a roof. While the user isn't visible on camera those familiar with Vanitas will probably recognize the doctor's voice.]
So many of you are fine with accepting that there's no way out of this place. Are you that easily distracted and complacent about being used by the Prismals? Do you just not have anything to go back to? Or maybe you just don't have something that this damned place is keeping you from doing...
[He laughs bitterly before stopping just as abruptly, voice dipping to almost a whisper.]
... Tch. Why am I wasting my breath?
[The video abruptly ends.]

Like, I would like to return, but you have to admit this place does make you feel pretty comfortable.
Maybe they just need a break from their lives back home and that's why they aren't going the extra mile to get out of here.

[He tried not to think too hard about that, but now that the subject resurfaced...]
What if this place has no way to be restored like they said and they need our energy perpetually? I don't know which thought is scarier.

Since they don't even seem to have a set solution to their Chroma problem it's entirely possible. And if it is then we have to accept that they either brought us here purposefully to fuel their world or- even if it somehow is some sort of miraculous coincidence- they're still willing to keep us here.

And here I thought this would be a nice break from the stress at home. I guess the novelty of the situation made me careless.
But I suppose there isn't much of a point to keep on dwelling on this, as grim as it is. It's not like we are gonna magically figure out a way out of this place.

I think there's a point. Even if it won't happen by some miracle I'm not content to just look the other way.

But if they wanted us to be fully obedient don't you think they would go the extra mile to make sure of it? Why would they allow us to question our current situation or think about leaving? Why not just brainwash us into wanting to stay forever?
[Jigen sighs.] I know it's frustrating to just accept that we are here, but maybe it's like how you said. Maybe we are just wasting our breath.

[And he sighs too.]
I'm going to go crazy in this damned place...
[But maybe he's just completely unable to adjust to the sort of "normal" life everyone else seems fine with.]

[Jigen shrugs.] And if we keep focusing on what the Prismals are doing behind the scenes - if they are even doing anything - I guess we are just gonna go bonkers.
If everything goes to shit I guess all we can do is fend off our captors. [Jigen says that with a smile that probably shouldn't be there.]
