[The video turns on to show a view of the apartments of Level 2 from what seems to be a fairly high vantage point looking down, as if the device is on a roof. While the user isn't visible on camera those familiar with Vanitas will probably recognize the doctor's voice.]

So many of you are fine with accepting that there's no way out of this place. Are you that easily distracted and complacent about being used by the Prismals? Do you just not have anything to go back to? Or maybe you just don't have something that this damned place is keeping you from doing...

[He laughs bitterly before stopping just as abruptly, voice dipping to almost a whisper.]

... Tch. Why am I wasting my breath?

[The video abruptly ends.]

You're making assumptions yourself by supposing that I haven't been trying to investigate this since arriving.

[But she is right that he's not exactly the best at sharing. He's used to working alone unless he needs to rely on his informants, but they're obviously not here so he's reverted to his old ways.]

I didn't assume that. What I assume is that your investigation hasn't been going so well so you decided to get on the network and take your frustrations out on the rest of us instead of asking for help.

[Not that she thinks enlisting more people to help will lead to anything.]

For the record I think most of us are just trying to get by and make the most of it. None of us decided to come here, but for some being here is better than being back home. They shouldn't have to explain to you why they feel that way.

Do you really think people would be more moved to help if I asked nicely?

[He snorts. Really his frustration is caused by a mixture of things that have been building up for months now, but she's right that his lack of progress certainly hasn't helped.]

If someone feels like that I don't care, they're welcome to stay here for as long as they want and be lab rats.

There are probably people who share your goals and might not know where to start. And asking for help would definitely get you better results then whatever it is you think you're accomplishing now.

[She can't really say much about the last point. While she does feel for the Prismals and the state of their world, she can't deny that this place feels like a test sometimes. Like they're being toyed with.]

People will only help when they can get something from you.

[And asking for help when he has enough trouble with trust as it is has never been his strong point.]

Not if they share a common goal. Wouldn't finding out how to get home be enough?

[She has a feeling she's going to end up talking in circles, but sometimes she can't help wanting to talk sense into people. Particularly the stubborn ones.]
