[ Yuzuriha doesn't hide the fact that she's in a sour mood this evening, trying to smile and then swiftly giving that up. ] I absolutely hate not being able to get any good sleep. These days I keep having the same few dreams and at first it was all fine and dandy, I could just act like it never happened, but lately they're really trying to dig at me...

[ There's a moment where she looks away from the screen, a little miffed, and then it becomes evident that she's struck with something -- anyone familiar may know this as Yuzuriha's "brain blast". ]

Someone must've put a curse on me! I mean, it'd make sense after because I -- [ Have already made enemies? That's just one dude and she doesn't pay attention to the rest. ] just attract those kinds of people. It's so hard to live when you're just the ideal girl... [ Queue a dramatic sigh, the back of her hand being placed against her forehead as she leans against her couch. ]

All jokes aside I'm bored and would reaaaaaaaaaally love some company right now. Especially since I doubt I'll be sleeping anytime soon, so! [ She clasps her hands together, now focusing in on the camera with a wide grin. ] What kind of dreams wake y'all up in a fuss?

[ He half expected her not to show, since it's late—it'd be easy to knock off. Guess her dreams really are that bad.

W/e just come inside, his starter place is basic. ]

Well I was feeling a bit tired until you mentioned food. [ She's grinning wide, stepping out of her shoes as she immediately goes to relax. Basic... that's fine, she can still spread out across his couch like a lazy cat. ]

Love it~ Eh? You can make that all on your own? [ She always finds herself befriending guys who can cook... she's so lucky. ]

Sure, it's not hard ... and I've made them a few times before.

[ He sets up in the kitchen as she makes herself home sweet home on his couch, quick to drag out a knife and get to cutting. When it comes to traditional foods, he's good—can't turn takoyaki to pâté with too much slicing, because they have to be round and hold together. ]

But if you fall asleep before they're finished, I'll eat 'em all myself.

I couldn't sleep here if I tried. [ She peeks her head above the couch. ] I've slept on worse but if there's a bed available my body refuses to nap anywhere else.

[ Is she being honest... who knows. Yuzuriha is a lying liar who likes to lie. ]

So where'd you learn to cook? No offense but you don't look the type to be interested unless it's to feed yourself.

Hm? Well ... yes. Where I'm from isn't like here. When you travel between cities and towns, you can be out camping for days. It helps to know how to cook, at least a little.

[ He shrugs, stirring the mix for the takoyaki and setting up the oil in a pot on the stove. ]

I'm not the best cook in the group I was traveling with last, but I can throw together a few things.

[ Glancing back over his shoulder— ]

You really don't know how?

[ She cants her head, resting her cheek against the cushions as she gives off the impression that she's in deep thought. It doesn't take long for her to remember days where she'd cook for her younger sister, ensuring that everything she made wasn't too difficult for her to swallow. ]

It's been a long time, if it's not quick rations then I'm basically worthless. Back home I'm usually in a group so I'd just let whoever is best at it do the cooking... And then while I was imprisoned they'd prepare my meals on good days!

[ Though she's curious, finally hoping up from the couch and walking into the kitchen. ]

But I'll watch you so I can learn a thing or two! Maybe!

[ Though he doesn't expect that she'll actually suddenly decide to cook for herself, with so many guys probably willing to do it for her.

But hey—as he works, Rokurou glances back over at her, curious. Because between traveling with a group and letting someone else do the cooking, and the mention of getting her meals prepared on good days— ]

Imprisoned? Ho, so you're a fugitive too?

[ Somehow, this doesn't surprise him. What are the odds he'd befriend someone without a sordid past? ]

[ She's neither pouting or being serious, despite her tone sounding a tad offended. ]

Though I can't say that I didn't expect you to have some criminal background. I hope you didn't get locked up because of some petty theft. [ That'd be so boring -- not that killing innocents, theft, and a false testimony made her the better person. ] I was given the chance to be pardoned of all my crimes, actually, so long as I manage to find the elixir of life.

[ She leans against the counter, on arm propped up as she rests her chin against the palm of her hand. ]

But I'm well aware that it's all just bullshit.

Elixir of life?

[ He repeats that while putting oil on the stove to heat, takoyaki ready to drop in for a frying. ]

... Well, doesn't sound like too much bullshit. We have elixirs where I'm from. We were making one that could cure any illness.

[ ... At least, a couple kids with a book of some old script were. But, you know, details. He shrugs, dropping some of the balls into the oil; the sizzle, beginning to cook. ]

You may have had a pretty good deal, if that's what would get you a full pardon.

Maybe if it wasn't me versus several other convicts all tryin' to get the same thing.

[ She watches him, her gaze a little more than distant as she recalls the face of the shogun who shipped them off: his smile was gentle, if not a little disturbed, hinting at the fact that he expected none of the criminals to come back to the main land. And while it seemed as if Sagiri was innocently unaware of the intentions her lord had, Yuzuriha could read it just based off of his expression alone. ]

He offered one pardon after shipping all of us to some weird island inhabited by some wannabe gods. You can't tell me that there's nothing fishy about it.

[ He doesn't know the details, but from what she's told and he's gathered? Oh yeah. There's a catch, or something else going on, especially if there was only one pardon.

Versus several other convicts, huh ... any correlation to her bad dreams? He doesn't mention it, though, only gives her a searching look before turning back to the stovetop.

It only takes a few minutes for the takoyaki to fry; he spoons them out to drain before putting them in a dish with some sauce, sliding it toward her. ]

[ Hope he doesn't mind people sitting on the counter... because she's that kind of bisexual.

She's also just hoping everything she says goes in one ear and out the other. Some of what she said is true, but there's obviously something off about the stories she's told -- was she sent there on a pardon or hired? The world may never know. ]

Whatwasthat -- ? [ Yuzuriha doesn't pay any attention, even if she does respond, clearly focusing on the food before her and fishing out the first ball. She opens her mouth, a single bite enough to wash over her tongue with heat.

She's made a mistake.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, she's made a huge mistake and it shows in her face. No amount of poison swallowing could have saved her from hot, fried octopus and other ingredients, her tongue in agony as she chews slowly. It tastes good, at least, her tongue hasn't numbed completely and can recognize that much. ] It's actually not bad, Roro! [ Her hand hovers in front of her mouth, just before she swallows. ] A little hot, but whatever -- can I get some water?
