I would like to address those out there who are fathers. Or anyone who might have experience with raising a child. Sons, especially.

How does one...form bonds with them? What activities do they enjoy? What should you talk about? Do you try to be their friend?

Zewu-Jun is teaching me the Xiao. I’m afraid I’m nowhere near skilled enough to play for others just yet though. You’ll find me sorely lacking compared to them.

Hanguang-jun plays his guqin for me. [She hesitates a little, but then figures there’s no use in hiding it. Eventually he’d find out and probably it’s better he learns now rather than later.]

Cultivation is very different where I’m from. I’m afraid... the abilities I have weren’t nurtured like it is for people from your world. It’s rather...damaging to me, so... Hanguang-jun plays for me to try and mitigate some of it.

But... I hope once I’ve done well enough with the xiao, he might teach me some of the guqin as well. Though I really can’t hope to be anywhere near as good as they are.
