[The user can't be seen just yet but he can be heard. The camera is pointed at a large soaking tub in a modern bathroom and the speaker seems overly excited about it all.]

Look at this! It's quite amazing, isn't it? The water is right there, just with a twist.

[A hand reaches out to turn a nob and water rushes out.]

Both hot and cold! It's genius!

Do you think this is easy to break? It looks quite sturdy.

Anything? Is that true? Have you tried it?

[Cue a video of very comfortable looking, smiling shijie lounging in a lavender dress on what appears to be some kind of sofa.]

I did once. The shopkeeper let me try it out as a product demonstration. I think it was against store policy.

[Is that a slight trace of smugness in her tone? It just might be.]

I didn't purchase them myself because I'm a little worried they might start malfunctioning. But you might enjoy experimenting with them sometime, A-Xian.

I haven't really thought about clothes, though I guess having more than one set would be good.

I can send you a list of stores so you can get properly outfitted. Sales and discounts can go a long way when you don't have much Chroma.

Well, Caihong is a little bit like home. I'm sure many of us do our shopping there but I don't know of any clothing shops offhand. They do sell lucky talismans, though. I think you might like it there.

[She does, anyway. It's the only place in Lunatia she's felt any degree of comfortable in aside from her brother's house.]

I think finding a shop with owners you can haggle with is a splendid idea, A-Xian.

Are they real, or just junk for show?

[If they were real he was really curious and wanted to go see.]

What is commerce but haggling? It's a war between the buyer and the seller. I think I'm quite good at winning.

How about I tag along to watch you fight sometime, A-Xian? I just might learn a trick or two.

[And if she's conveniently on hand to smooth things over if the negotiation goes south, well, that's just good fortune, isn't it?]

As for the charms in Caihong, I think they might be just for show but I didn't investigate them very closely. I was more interested in the food stalls.

[She'd snacked often back at Lotus Pier but her food cravings under the Cordis moon are so much more intense.]

[There's definitely quite a bit of pride in her tone there, much like a mother pointing out her son's accomplishments. Even no one back home had seemed to properly appreciate the dedication and hard work her little brother put into his methods, she certainly had.

You really don't need to worry about gifts for me. Your presence is already the best gift I could have.

[That she can see, talk to him, and spend time with him at all is a blessing on its own.]

But if you truly wish to look for a gift, perhaps we could pick out something pleasant for Zixuan instead.

[He couldn't help but grin, not that it could be seen, but his voice easily carried it.]

It might be different here, but since you have so much faith in me Shijie I definitely have to check and see.

[Of course that delighted tone turned a little sour at the mention of Zixuan. He tried to hide it, but, no matter what he would always be a little bratty about it.]

Does he even need gifts?

[Yanli suppresses a chuckle. As much as she'd prefer her beloved brother and husband-to-be to be friends, she'll settle for mutual tolerance. Whether they like it or not, they're going to be family after the wedding and in her opinion, it's in everyone's best interests that they try to get along a little bit, at least.]

Zixuan and I have limited resources here, given that we are still unwed. A small token is all that I ask. Perhaps one of those charms I mentioned would be a suitable gift. If it helps make it easier, think of it as a present to me.

[It's less the gift itself than the gesture. Even if he can't accept Zixuan himself, accepting his status as her husband is crucial and necessary. She's already handled one Wei Wuxian's denial. Speaking of which....]

Did I tell you that your younger self wished me to wed Lan Sizhui and bring him into our sect?

Well he is a good boy. If things were different I woukdn't disapprove. But since he is the child I carefully tended to with water sun and care, that's impossible.

And he has parents! What a rude thing to say!

[He used this as an excuse to pretend to forget about gifts to Jin Zixuan, for at least the moment.]

[She'll let the matter of the gift go for the moment, at least. After all, she'd just received some interesting news. Had Sizhui told her? She'd been bombarded with so many strange new things that day, it's possible it'd gotten lost in the information flood.]

Really? I hadn't realized you were so close.

[There's still quite a lot about his life and the future in general that she still doesn't know. But at least, it seems they have time to talk and learn about everything here.]

I don't think Xiao-Fan knew. He's still pretty young.

It's still rude, did he ask? Did he find out if he was an orphan? Clearly he is an inner disciple of Lan, he can't just leave that and join another through marriage.
