[ It's a girl with plaited hair who graces everyone's feeds with her presence today. Some may have seen her on TV already, though she's definitely more present on stage in the theatre. To those who know her but haven't met her since mid-February, she's matured by a lot. Anyway... ]

Do any of you use Demichroma? I'd like to point out that while it's not worth a lot with Chroma in the picture, it's still an invaluable resource.

[ The video doesn't seem to be in an apartment. It's more of an office setting. A man in a Moon Knight's uniform suddenly starts walking in the back. Weiss looks behind her and tries to tell him to go away.

AHEM. ]

With the right amount of Chroma added, you can use Demichroma to defend yourself. It helps, I think, that you shouldn't just rely on the magic you get from the Moons, if you don't have any other abilities to fight of your own. There's more trouble on the horizon, what with what happened last month, not to mention, that King Majestas which no one seems to have any idea of.

So, this is Demichroma with a little bit of fire, [ She shows a small red crystal to the screen. ] And this is what I can do with it.

[ A Glyph appears next to her when she summons it. Then she tosses the crystal into the Glyph backwards, where a beam of fire comes out and practically toasts the wall behind them. Said Moon Knight who had a cameo earlier starts extinguishing the flames. ]

I'd be happy to give more tips on how to use Demichroma in battle. Of course, if there are other uses for it that you think would be helpful, not just in combat, but you can use energy in so many ways. Let's exchange ideas.

That depends on the abilities, but for a Druid like myself they're for healing and removing conditions. For an Elementalist, they're for summoning and I believe some skill boosting.

Those are terms I'm afraid I don't understand. Are they schools of magic?

[ That's what she thinks, based on the context clues. ]

Nooooooot exactly?

[She scratches at her cheek thoughtfully. The only real schools of- anything she knows are the Asura science schools, but that is only tangentially related.]

The more common term is "profession" though not in the "this is my job" sense. Elementalists are generally born with an innate skill in magic already and can channel it into fire, water, earth and air abilities. Druids are more about specific nature magic that's mostly used for healing.

[schmisse]

I see. [ At least, she thinks she understands... ] So Glyphs aren't limited to certain types of people— it's something that can be used by everyone.

Is my interpretation correct?

[arrowroot]

Yes, that's correct. The nice thing about professions is that you're not limited to just one type - I actually started as a Ranger and became a Druid later.

That does make me curious about yours, though.

[schmisse]

Only members of the Schnee family are capable of using them.

[ So they're... a little more special. Special snowflakes! ]

[Very special snowflakes.]

That's... hm. I imagine that has both benefits and difficulties, only having a limited amount of people that can use it. How did you learn to be so proficient? Did you struggle much or did it come fairly naturally to you?

[schmisse]

Others have different abilities— I have some friends who are capable of being very fast, turning themselves into rose petals in the process; turning into shadows; and hitting really hard when they're angry. [ The last one falls a little flat... it sounds like she was building up for skills to be better and better, and yet!! ]

I was taught by my sister. She's learned how to harness our Semblance very well.

[arrowroot]

[Just sounds like a Berserker to her. She's seen her brother take front line hits and absolutely decimate enemies after enough of them.

The rest do sound far more specialized and unique, though. One can train and craft their abilities to vary from someone else but at the end of the day you're both Rangers, both Warriors, both Elementalists...]

It's called Semblance? That is incredible. Your world sounds really interesting!

[schmisse]

Oh, well...

[ Interesting is definitely one way of putting it, she guesses. ]

I suppose. But it's not all that great.

[arrowroot]

Is any world?

[She's not trying to discredit Weiss, but Tyria sure has its share of problems that she's been inexorably wrapped up in for most of her adult existence!]

Do you... want to go back? Or are you one of those that would rather stay here?

[schmisse]

Oh, that's— Sorry.

[ That's true. Weiss didn't mean to sound ignorant of others there. The question gets a wry smile out of her, though. ]

I do like it here, but I know I have a duty in Remnant. I suppose... that's my answer.

[ She doesn't want to, but she knows she has to? ]

Heh, you're fine. I can't imagine anyone who has never been in a situation like this even considering what another world might be going through.

[As for the other answer-]

I understand that. I think that if I hadn't started my guild and stepped away from the other groups I was with that were more involved in Tyria's matters I would feel the same way.

[schmisse]

Even if you meet all kinds of people here, and even though your life may be better here, it's important never to lose track of who you are.

[ That's what she thinks, anyway... ]

I... think you're right, but I can't say with complete honesty that I've held on to who I am. Or, rather, who I used to be. Not that it has anything to do with being here...

[And everything to with the fact that she had her faults laid bare before her by Joko. Balthazar had started the wheel moving towards her no longer being able to continue her self sacrificial behavior, but Joko basically kicked her into the proverbial pit.]

[schmisse]

[ Oh... Well, it's okay to be confused, Ana. ]

I— I see. [ What is she even supposed to say to that!! ] Is... everything alright?

[ Would she like Weiss, a stranger, to listen to her plight? Weiss could if she wanted. ]

[arrowroot]

[She was hesitant at first, more struggling to find the right words than thinking Weiss wouldn't understand. She did seem young, or at least younger than Ana, but age wasn't always a determining factor in what someone has or has not experienced.]

It's--... I know that the world isn't black and white. That "good" and "evil" are just things we tend to throw out to justify or deride someone's actions. But I think I still fell into the trap of thinking everything I was doing was "right" and everything we were against was "wrong".

The more we did to try and "right the wrongs", so to speak, the more it felt like we were only running headlong into the next problem. And then it turned out we were doing a lot more damage than we thought. We were disrupting the balance of Tyria. Which we are actually trying to fix! But...

Well. When the asshole lich king you've been trying to get rid of for a few years tells you what an idiot you are for taking out two elder dragons in the first place, it hits pretty hard.

[schmisse]

[ She's right. Weiss doesn't... understand, but she tries to, anyway. ]

Everyone thinks what they're doing is right.

[ She doesn't need to fully understand Ana's story to know this. ]

... What happens, if you kill an elder dragon?

[arrowroot]

I certainly did...

[Rurik seemed barely affected by Joko's scathing review of their "heroic" actions, but maybe he was just keeping it closer to the chest than she was. Regardless, the lich king had certainly left an impression on the young woman and it wasn't exactly a good one.]

If you don't put something equally powerful in their place, their power distributes to the rest, causing their minions to become more powerful and giving them abilities they wouldn't otherwise have.

[schmisse]

So, how do you do that? Is that something you've figured out?

[ Sorry for asking all these questions, Ana. You've gotten her curiosity bunched up in your palm! ]

[It's fine! She actually appreciates the interest in her world.

Makes her a little less homesick.]

[She scratches at her cheek and lets a nervous laugh bubble out.]

My brother and I sort of... raised the next Elder Dragon to take over for Kralkkatorik.

[schmisse]

Is that a good thing?

[ It sounds like it is? ]

Well, Aurene is wonderful, she's absolutely on our side and wants nothing but good things for Tyria. Some people are convinced that what we did was entirely for power and control, though.

[schmisse]

What are you doing about it?

[ About what they're saying? ]

[arrowroot]

[Ana crosses her arms and lets out a wary sigh, shaking her head.]

Not much more than I already have been. Aurene is her own person-- dragon and really it's up to her to prove or disprove whatever rumors may be floating about. Unfortunately the most vocal of the naysayers have been Charr leaders and they are undoubtedly the most stubborn, hardheaded, stuck in their ways--

[She's getting visibly irritated as she talks, actually twitching a little until she stops herself and takes a breath to calm her nerves.

Clearly she has a lot of thoughts about Charr.]

In any case I did step back a little in hopes that it might calm some fears. If I'm not front and center of everything it may give them the impression that there's nothing about Aurene's presence that is a boon for me specifically. I did send one of my guild members, Freja, to the most recent summit in my place. She's a Norn and they tend to command more respect from Charr compared to humans so I'm hoping she'll be able to smooth any ruffled fur better than I was.
