Who gave me superpowers?!
[The camera flips from Nightwing's masked face around to a doorway. The door is lying on the ground, ripped clean off its hinges because Nightwing was in a hurry.
It's his first Sanguis...]
I'm not Superman! I don't want to be Superman! No offense to the big guy, but I've been working my whole life to perfect my acrobatics, my detective work, my martial arts, and now-- all of that-- is just going to waste?
[He is not Superman, but he's starting to feel like Superboy circa five years ago.]
Whatever. Now I have to figure out the exact extent of this stupid, stupid development so I don't accidentally kill somebody.
Who's got some heavier-duty doors I can rip off? This one is a good standard control. Actually, I have no idea what the control for this experiment would look like, just that I want to be gathering a lot of data.
[In other words, who wants a fight?]

So I still have to figure out how much I have to hold back if I'm hitting someone who isn't Sanguis.

Hey, the number of volunteers doesn't matter. I need to know exactly how far this goes, exactly how strong I am, so if you don't mind... I'll try not to hit too hard.

Hit as hard as you'd like. It'll never be hard enough to actually do me true harm. It's better to know how far you can go before you learn to control it. As far as I know, I will be your best option to work with. I heal quickly, and I am quite durable.

[He falters, doesn't have a word for what he's trying to say. He doesn't want to call Black Canary anything derogatory, but they won't figure out how humans develop superpowers or how to refer to humans who have done so for another year and a half after his pull point.]
When would be the most convenient time for you? I'm still new enough that I haven't got a routine.

[He's curious what he would say exactly.]
We should probably do this soon. Are you free now?

Humans don't usually give birth to humans who display non-human attributes, is what I mean.
[Is that long-winded enough to be politically correct and inoffensive? He does not know.
He taps his wrist to call up a hologram screen from his watch, and yeah, he's got some time before Cassie gets out of school.]
I'm still new, so I might need explicit directions, but I'm free.

Quite all right. Perhaps we should just meet at the beach. It's vacant enough that we wouldn't disturb anyone.
audio > action?
I'm not used to my fights being that disruptive, so I'm looking forward to being impressed. I will see you there.

...and the other thing about beaches? There's not always good cover. Palm trees aren't always good for getting the high ground, so when Alucard arrives to Nightwing just there, in the middle of the open space, using a wrapped-up abandoned hammock as a makeshift punching bag, it's a sight not most people see. Normally, he'd find a convenient shadow and appear more mysteriously when one wasn't paying attention, but the need for a little action means he's not patient enough for his usual style.]

These days, he's used to wearing mostly pajamas. They're damned cozy, but he's fine with approaching in his more traditional wear for this time.]
Impatient to trade blows?

[He draws his arm back, and, remembering what he said earlier about not needing to hold back, proceeds to do exactly that.
It hung from what might have been a metal sign post in another life, but the force applied to the 'bag,' so to speak, uproots it, causes it to overbalance and fall over.]
--doesn't exactly trade.
[He turns to Alucard with a smile.]
