I'm not Superman! I don't want to be Superman! No offense to the big guy, but I've been working my whole life to perfect my acrobatics, my detective work, my martial arts, and now-- all of that-- is just going to waste?

[He is not Superman, but he's starting to feel like Superboy circa five years ago.]

Whatever. Now I have to figure out the exact extent of this stupid, stupid development so I don't accidentally kill somebody.

Who's got some heavier-duty doors I can rip off? This one is a good standard control. Actually, I have no idea what the control for this experiment would look like, just that I want to be gathering a lot of data.

Do you happen to know what your baseline strength is compared to a human? Or did they give you this same power?

Funny, I do too, back home. Never really thought about it much.

[Probably because she used to be Iris and didn't wear that much purple, as an interesting side note.]

Can't really say I'm physically any stronger than the next fighter, but the super strength is definitely new. So's the fire magic. Used to be electric magic and quick healing. If I'm honest I'd rather have that back, but it doesn't seem like the moons are inclined to give us much choice.

I know little of the feeling of the moon cycle itself but, I can help you understand and get a feel for your new found strength. I've undergone something similar before arriving here so I have a good idea of what you're feeling.

I have no clue what a...that last thing you mentioned is but, when I arrived here I gained a big boost in my speed. Before arriving here, I was a normal human mutated by a demonic curse. After I could shapeshift, move faster than the eye could track, and generally physically stronger than humans by...a lot.

[The actual recorded write up of his abilities was more accurate with their measurements, but he never really gave a crap. He knows he can split steel and more with a single sword swipe and parry automatic fire, that's good enough for him.]

Admittedly, I've never tested the strength of the Sanguis Moonblessed so this would benefit the both of us. You get to gauge your new found strength, I get more information.

No magic, no inertia belt, no chemical accidents, no psychic powers, and no super strength! Just the stuff my parents and my mentors and my own bruises taught me.

Power uncontrolled can be just as deadly as power misused. I appreciate you going out of your way to keep yourself and others safe. So as long as you know the extent of damage that can be done with these powers I think it's for the best to at least determine how to manage it.

Actually, if all you got is the strength, you should consider yourself lucky! It sounds like you're a Sanguis, and some of them can be real jerks when the red moon is out, because of the stuff it does to their personality.

I busted a guy who could do that once. He was stealing the skills of circus performers in order to pull off tech heists across Europe.

Do you only get superpowers, or do you get any abilities? This guy could swipe super strength, flight, invulnerability, telekinesis, and shapeshifting, but he also got more mundane stuff like tightrope walking and acrobatics.

No offense to the guys who can punch harder than me, but if you could double-check that this isn't some kind of trade-off with the abilities I've actually worked for, that would be cool, too.

[Ace's abilities afford him pretty fast healing, if he's even able to be hit at all. And considering people from his world can even regrow teeth by simply drinking milk, the regeneration that comes with Iris has been completely missed by Ace.]

Hey, I have a reputation of not needing super strength, or any other powers.

Some of the stuff I know gets very dangerous when you don't know exactly what you're doing, and changing all my upper body strength definitely puts a crunch on that.

Super powers make everything too easy, and they make it much easier to be a reckless idiot with anger issues!

[And, hey, way to hit his secret insecurity. Most of the time, Nightwing is the smartest superhero in the room-- unless that room is the Batcave, and he's surrounded by certified geniuses and ace talents Batman, Batgirl, and the third Robin.]
