Well, considering the unusual flow of time, I thought it was relevant to speak of this now.
I was wondering how many of you are familiar with the concept of alternative timelines and realities. Merely for a pure discussion standpoint, or if you had a curiosity without really any understanding of it.
I suppose in my way, it's to clear my mind. Sort it out and such.

[Since he's' not familiar with said concept, he might as well figure if that actually counts or not.]

I suppose I shouldn't be that concerned. I have time to figure out how to bridge things, if I so choose.

I did meet someone who was another version of my father.

All I really know for sure is that the Weaver does not take kindly to those who try to alter the events of the past.
[ Yes, there is one religion in the multiverse where time travel is actually discussed and considered a sin. ]
Which, well.
It's not hard to see how the consequences could be vast.
Either way, there's a bit of a running discussion as to whether the timelines are truly parallel, or whether it's more like a tree.

Mm, the way it was taught to me is that it is more like a web in many directions. Infinite in possibilities and timelines, branching. The only certain thing is that it is uncertain, as I was told.

Lots of people he knows share the names of famous authors in my timeline, and their supernatural abilities are named the same as famous works. And it's happened more than once that I bring a work by the author here to show to someone from that universe only to be told that the - as far as I knew, fictional - characters in a book share names and life details with that person's family?
It is disconcerting to know that an alternate universe version of you essentially invented your father, I'm told.

[ Ardyn kept his usual, light-hearted tone as he responded to the query. Why not? Work was slow and he was bored. ]
Sometimes, it's quite pleasant to fantasize about the 'what-ifs' and 'possibilities' that have gone by in life. It can be quite a fun game, especially if you're an old fellow like myself.
[ His voice changed slightly as his smile faded, an edge of tiredness creeping into his words. ]
But ultimately, I've come to the conclusion that even if there was a way to see them, then it doesn't matter. They don't change the reality that I've lived, or the time that I've experienced.

I don't suppose you have any insight on that?

Honestly, I can hardly imagine the sheer number of potential existential crises born from the various parallels that exist between the worlds represented among the moonblessed... just what triggered this one? Were you mistaken for a two-bit villain in a shounen manga, perhaps?

There’s someone here who lived the same life as mine, or maybe it’s the other way around. Not sure. Her friends are the same as mine. We figured out a few differences but largely the events leading up to a specific date remained the same. Those from our world that are here are specifically from her reality, except for our furry friend. He happens to be from mine. She also told me that there were two others who were here that were from my reality as well.

I have become rather intimately familiar with the concept of late. It feels as though I have met people I know from just about every permutation of how things could have proceeded from a certain point except my own...
