Hello, Lunatia! I hope this finds you all well. I'm Dr. Angela Ziegler, if we've yet to have the pleasure. The doctor who owns the Second Nature (Free) Clinic on the beach in level 2.
I have seen a lot of new faces of late and quite the number of questioning entries, as well as some other Q&As, so I thought that I would offer one a little more... medically professional? And from someone who has been here for a year, now.
I'm sure it is quite disorienting here at times and I would like to offer some peace of mind and an open venue to ask anything you'd like, whether it's about this place or its changes, pre-existing medical concerns, how to administer a massage for a partner, what goes into cybernetics, creating a swedish torch as the weather warms up for hiking, or even simply just coffee shop recommendations. Everyone is welcome to try me.
If even posting anonymously is a bit too much, you are free to contact me privately as well.
( ooc: "trauma surgeon, combat medic, former CMO of a peacekeeping organization, prosthetics/cybernetics specialist, and coffee aficionado, AMA!" time! why is blizzard like this she's so much... please feel free to private lock replies to assume messaging her on the side, remember your content warnings in subject titles for Risky Business topics, ask others' permission before threadjacking, and go wild! )

I would say with rather intimate moonlacing and a touch of first aid to stem hemorrhaging, most wounds can be healed in a matter of hours, provided the person doesn't bleed out first or there is no significant organ damage. Grievous injury where someone would expire within minutes to an hour may not be able to be healed with moonlacing. But there are other ways to help someone badly injured.

It seems to mostly only work on physical injuries and the knitting of flesh.
May I ask after the sickness you're referring to? There may be other treatments, or at least other methods of relief that will last a bit longer.

Only sought to understand the healing limitations of 'moonlace' sorcery.
Gratitude.

You're absolutely welcome. Thankfully we're able to supplement the healing ability of moonlacing with modern technology, so most things should be treatable, I imagine.

I traveled wherever I was needed. I worked in war relief until I ended up here.
And you? Is that a profession you're familiar with from personal experience?

I don't see why that would mean you don't have your fair share of experience, you know.

Enough sickness and conflict here to warrant your work?

And thankfully, not often. There are injuries, certainly, and the occasional cold or headache. I mostly exist as a comfortable in-between to soothe any worries. Not everyone is comfortable going to those who brought us here or they fear the scientists.
If all I do is listen, offer embraces for a bit of moonlacing, ice packs for sore parts, or tend to some headaches from sudden heavy appendages, I'm think it worthwhile. I also do massage work and tinker in a workshop at the back, and make the occasional medications or basic herbal supplements. It keeps me occupied.
