[Sometime during early evening... Maybe you opened an app on your bracelet to listen to some tunes, or maybe you're on the subway or out shopping when you hear a soft, somewhat soothing voice ring through some speakers broadcasting public radio:]

"Are we live?"

[Just as calm and serene as that voice, a jingle plays, eventually fading into background music as the voice begins speaking again.]

My esteemed peers, a good evening to you. From planet Earth's 765 Productions, I am Takane Shijou, your host for tonight's installment of Are We Live? Friday. A slight deviation of a highly successful television program back in my home world, I hope you will allow me to accompany you during your evening commute with some mild entertainment.

[For the first ten minutes of the show, Takane serenely gives a quick rundown of recent events, such as the success of the festival a few weeks back and how she enjoyed performing there. She also acknowledges the moon cycles and expresses concern over how everyone is faring with that, and hopes they can manage through it. There's also a point where she goes on a nonstop tangent on the latest ramen shop she decided to visit, almost like a hamfisted promotional ad, but she's very sincere about how she loves her bowl of soup and noodles.

Finally, she gets to the more interactive part of the program:]

... It is now time for the segment that management has decided to label "Hair it Out." [There's a brief pause as some mumbling can be heard in the background.] Hm? Oh? Oh dear. I see. My apologies, my dear listeners, but it seems it is actually called "Air it Out". In this segment, you may call in and speak whatever it is that you wish to release from the confines of your heart. Whether it is an announcement or to seek advice, I shall listen well and attempt to offer my input to the best of my ability. If this interests you, please the studio a call at...

[She provides the necessary contact information, and waits. This is where you, fellow moonblessed, step in. Feel free to give her a ring, share your thoughts, your darkest secrets, your worries by commenting to this subthread. She'll be here to listen to it, as will everyone else in Lunatia.

Of course! Listen carefully, uh...listeners? No, let me—

[Ah, but it's too late. He's already messed up. He clears his throat and moves on, preferring not to dwell on or acknowledge that it happened.]

...Ch-Children of man! Know that you are hearing the voice of he who can tame the fiercest of whirlwinds, and bring to a frenzy even the gentlest breezes...even the very winds that carry my voice to your ears are under my command! I, Griiiimnir, am always on the air!

[He'll figure out what that phrase means someday.]

How was that?! I didn't have a lot of time to practice...

[Wow, that was a thing. Oddly endearing, like when a kid puts on a magic show for their parents by wiggling a pencil and insisting they turned it into rubber. Takane giggles lightly.]

Fufu~ Most splendid. I do believe many would be pulled in by your charisma, Lord Grimnir. [To put it gently, anyway.] I take it that you are interested in becoming a host for this segment as well, if you shall "always be on-air"? You certainly do have quite the natural disposition to entertain others, so I would not mind welcoming you to the studio with open arms.

[He pauses to clear his throat. The shift in his demeanor is practically palpable through the airwaves.]

[What an interesting person... The enthusiasm is infectious, to the point that Takane decides to double down on this rather whimsical notion.]

But of course. With your penchant for theatrics, I've no doubt you would be a rather exciting pupil, if you are fine with someone like me for a teacher. [To put it mildly.] Fufu... I've never had a student before, I do hope that my skills are up to par in being an adequate source of knowledge for you.

The thing I wish to "hair out" and release from my heart... is how terribly I miss those who are dear to me in my own world...
I want to see them so badly, and moreover, I know that my disappearance must have caused problems for them. Some of those problems may be very, very serious.
And yet, if I were to return, I...
Well, the situation was very complicated. On the whole, in many ways, I think... I would prefer to stay here.
—but doesn't that mean I am abandoning those who should have been able to rely on me? Is it really all right for me to simply live a carefree life in Lunatia while others are suffering, and my duties go unfulfilled??
...Of course, there is nothing I can do about it one way or the other... and so I have tried to avoid dwelling on it... but that is often not possible.

Maybe there is some kind of trick to it.

Fufu... Anonymous-sama, I am sure there are several Moonblessed here that miss their friends and family in their home world. I, myself, am one of those people.

I also understand the feeling of having an urgent matter to attend to back home, yet unable to do much but wait. I too am bound by a duty, a mission that I have long trained since birth for, and feel that I must resume seeing to as soon as I receive a chance.

However, just because I had staunchly made the decision so quickly does not necessarily mean you have to. It is not inherently bad to consider one's own personal happiness, such is but nature. Perhaps, if possible, there is a way to speak with the Lunatian government and arrange your return to this land once your duty is fulfilled? They do seem to be quite welcome to us staying here, after all.

Yes! I love the different levels of the city, the light of the moons and of the Crystaluna, the trees, the great variety in types of people, the colorful clothing, the many shops and eateries, and the mutual, cooperative nature of the process by which life energy is generated!

And yourself?

Me? I am rather fascinated with how at home I feel here, yet there are some elements that are both new and intriguing to me. It is the intertwining of both familiarity and the unknown that allows me to embrace new experiences encountered here with a sense of ease.

You can easily see such in the food they serve here. I am surprised they have dishes similar to ones from where I had been before, yet there are unknown ones as well!

I see, I see! I too have a deep appreciation for Lunatia's cuisine. What are some of the new dishes you have tried that you would recommend? I am personally quite fond of "espresso" and "crab curry," although I would suggest enjoying them separately.

I know someone that was recently hospitalized too.
I didn't realize it was such a common occurrence.

Perhaps rather than a common occurrence, it is a connected one.
He is certainly the type that allows many to be drawn by him, a trait I would much like to have for myself.
However, as the privacy of others is something to be respected, it is not my place to elaborate any further.

I do mean it when I say that I shall take your advice to heart.
Even now, I know little of the outside world, and fear my ignorance may cause trouble for others. Thus, if there is any opporunity to learn and improve myself, I shall accept it gracefully.

I am forever grateful to the Lord and Lady of the Shijou estate, for allowing me the privilege of taking me into their family.
As I was essentially a boarder who did not have to pay any fee, it is important that I do not take such a blessing for granted.
So the very least I can do in return is diligently work to fulfill the duty I am tasked with.

I suppose it is somewhat both.
Since childhood, I have trained both in mind and body for the sake of reaching the glow at the highest peak:
"Top Idol"
That is the first and most preferential means of completing my duty, though arduous.
Even now, I continue to pursue it with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, whatever tribulations my arise.

Is it really so foolish?
I believe that true strength lies within being able to overcome whatever obstacles arise, to forge oneself into being their best possible version and beyond.
And to do that, all competition must be at their best condition as well, so their growth must be encouraged as well.
Though I suppose your offer suffices as well, should those conditions happen to be fulfilled.
Achieving "number one" is a stark difference from maintaining that status, after all.

Why thank you, Ren.
Though I respect anyone's wish to keep a secret, you would be surprised how secure many feel under the veil of anonymity. Furthermore, some secrets exert pressure, and may threaten to make its holder burst and collapse if not released a tiny bit.
If I am allowed to ease such burden, even by a small fraction, then I would like to do so to the best of my ability.
That aside, I am open to suggestion. Long has it been since I have operated without direction, and I still have much to learn. What do you happen to have in mind, Ren?

You would be surprised at how many wish to confess something to their friends, yet feel more comfortable doing so indirectly.
For the next segment, I will be reading anonymous letters out loud as well, so I hope that every avenue is addressed.
