so, i know that there are people here who are familiar with zodiac signs. but someone mentioned earlier that it was all fake and something created to "con idiots into doing things". i don't know how true that is.

does anyone else know much about that?

it's a pretty important part of where i come from but i hear from other people that the zodiac is more of a joke?

Assuming you're referring to the Chinese zodiac, it's the source of some of the most incredible powers I've ever lain my hands on. Rather impressive for a joke, I'd say.

that's the one with the rabbit in it, yes? the one i'm referring to has capricorn, aquarius, gemini and the others in it.

Oh, in that case, I haven't a clue; I couldn't tell you a single thing about the other zodiac, except that I'm a Capricorn. I'm sure it must have some variety of magic associated with it, though. Everything else seems to.

It's not so much that the zodiac itself has powers; rather, the powers come in the form of a set of talismans modeled thereon. Dragon talisman, sheep talisman, and so on. For having been created by the most pestiferous demon ever to slither the earth, they're a remarkably good time.

capricorn is a good sign to be born under for the next thousand years. though when you talk of powers it is similar to something i know. there aren't talismans but i know that capricorn has the power of petrification, and that cancer has a power i wish i had.

if a demon made them does that mean those talismans are bad? or do they depend on who is using them?

The next... thousand years? You may be working on a slightly larger scale than I am, but I appreciate the knowledge nonetheless. And yes, your zodiac's abilities do sound rather similar to the way the talismans function. You realize, of course, that now you'll have to tell me what this enviable power of Cancer's might be.

It's a fair question, but personally, I lean toward the side of "it depends on the user". I myself have had some particularly positive experiences using the talismans, but my enemies have proven just as capable of stealing them and harnessing their powers for themselves.

that's what they say and how it all works. what kind of powers do the other talismans have? and i could say what cancer's power is but it's not really my place to tell it, they could arrive here and might want it a secret.

that makes sense. seems a lot of things are like that. not sure if it's more confusing or not when items don't have a side, it's hard to tell what they'd be capable of if it's uncertain.

Oh, all sorts! Off the top of my head: fire blasts, invisibility, levitation, speed, strength... No petrification, to my knowledge, but one can't have everything. Which of your zodiac's powers do you wield, then, or is that a secret as well?

In my experience, most magical artifacts don't tend to have much of a preference who wields them, but when they do, they won't be shy about letting one know. I hope you've never had the pleasure of sharing your body with a being of evil whilst trying to handle a box composed of good magic. The two don't mix.
