Video | UN: RedBlades
[ As soon as the video turns on, Karma's already waving one hand towards the camera but otherwise seeming for all intents and purposes to be rather calm for the most part. ]
So. Guess you could say I have a question for you all.
[ He gestures back towards the window nearby; moreso towards the sky ]
Since the first of the month is coming up soon and i've heard these moons affect people a certain way, is there any advice that could be given for dealing with the effects that happen? I would quite appreciate it if any of you would be willing to share any details of your experiences so I know what to expect.
[ His smile falters a touch here, but nonetheless seems to remain in place as he let off a soft hum. Normally Karma wouldn't have asked so openly but maybe he was concerned about what was going to happen in a couple days and he did like being prepared.
Sure Cloud had told him a little but he needed a bit more to go off of. ]
Especially seeing as it would be my first time and it's likely to be unsettling in some form or another.

[ Oh he teases a little, but it isn't like he's not concerned about it being a very real possibility of it happening to him. ]
If that does happen to be what it is with me, it's almost tempting to keep myself inside, then. Wouldn't want to do something i'd possibly regret later.
no subject
[He maybe teasing, but Lapis is serious.]
Staying inside helps, if you have a way to satisfy yourself that is.
no subject
[ At least he is taking it a bit more seriously now, a brief look of concern flashing across his face now. ]
Could be a problem since it isn't as if I have much chroma to my name that could help with that at the moment.
no subject
[Oh yeah... Chroma.]
About the only thing to do in that case, if you are an Iris is either have someone you trust around who can do moonlacing of an um... Acceptable kind, or stock up? I never had to do that, I don't eat so I don't really spend my Chroma on things humans need.
no subject
[ Not a happy or great possibility but he couldn't ignore it all the same. ]
Both sound like good enough ideas to me and I'll do what I can just in case. [ Then he just pauses. Just for a moment. ] You? Not human? Would never have figured that out if you hadn't told me.
[ Such a thing is said all in good fun, if not super sarcastically and with a smile on his face. He's honestly not making fun of her. Seriously. ]
Though with that said, just what are you? I am curious.
no subject
[Lapis knows sarcasm, or at least the art of being a little shit, so her laugh is flat. But she does smile back, because why not.]
I'm a Gem, an alien to anyone from Earth. And I guess an alien here too.
no subject
A Gem? That's a first. How long has gems existed where you're from? I imagine alien lifespans are quite extensive.
[ It's a genuinely honest question here. ]
no subject
Well, I'm well over five thousand years old. But there are Gems much much much older than me.
no subject
[ That makes sense, what with her being an alien and all, but still. Color him impressed. ]
So. If you don't eat, just what do gems need to keep existing, then? I am curious.
no subject
[She's pretty sure that's what you say when someone says you don't look your age.]
Oh, as long as our Gem is intact we're good, since our physical form is simply a projection.
no subject
[ It was his way of saying 'you're welcome' because it was still a compliment in some form or another. Even if he was more focused on finding out more about this unique race of hers. ]
A physical projection. Interesting. So if your race is called gems... you probably have beings named after the ones I might know. Such as pearl, emerald, amethyst and so on?
no subject
no subject
[ Oh man he can't resist asking because this is just SO damn intriguing. ]
What are Pearl and Amethyst like?
no subject
Pearl is, well. A bit stuffy and stuck up? But I guess she's okay, and Amethyst is fun and goofy and probably way better adapted to Earth life than any other Gem I know.
no subject
[ Which next begs a question that he's had on his mind for a little bit now. ]
So which one are you, then?
no subject
Oh, right. I'm Lapis Lazuli.
no subject
[ It was either that or Sapphire that he might have guessed was her gem, so it was nice to have full clarification on that matter. ]
You were just stating your gem, but either way, I'm Karma.
[ Names were important after all. ]
no subject
[He wouldn't be the first who thought she was a Sapphire around here, and he probably won't be the last.]
My Gem, my name. Same thing. It's nice to meet you, Karma.
