So. Guess you could say I have a question for you all.

Since the first of the month is coming up soon and i've heard these moons affect people a certain way, is there any advice that could be given for dealing with the effects that happen? I would quite appreciate it if any of you would be willing to share any details of your experiences so I know what to expect.

[ His smile falters a touch here, but nonetheless seems to remain in place as he let off a soft hum. Normally Karma wouldn't have asked so openly but maybe he was concerned about what was going to happen in a couple days and he did like being prepared.

Sure Cloud had told him a little but he needed a bit more to go off of. ]

Especially seeing as it would be my first time and it's likely to be unsettling in some form or another.

Well!

At first I didn't actually realize I had such a thing at all. And even now, I myself cannot detect it. So I did notice that, for example, shopkeepers and servers were very quick to offer special discounts or freebies, and people in general seemed to be very interested in chatting for a while, but, you know, I assumed that everyone in the city must simply be extremely friendly.

And then, of course, before too long I noticed that there were also times when people around the city seemed substantially more neutral toward me. But as I still did not know it was an effect of the moon, I thought I myself had somehow become less charming and likable...

I see. Once you figure it out and get the hang of it, I bet you probably could use it to some extent to get what you wanted. Even if it's just something small.

That is, if you felt like it. I know some people aren't quite inclined to do so.

It has been quite a while since I first noticed all these things, and of course once I learned it was an element of my moonblessing, it all fell into place. So by now I have most certainly gotten the hang of it.

And I do use it.

Mostly to get free food, since as I mentioned, I also get very hungry during Cordis.

Though I have been thinking lately that I really ought to stop...

If it's helping you out during the time when you need it most, why stop now? It seems like it would probably hurt you if you did.

People should use whatever advantages they can in a world like this one.

What exactly is "a world like this one"?

One that's not your own. A foreign land with new concepts you wouldn't normally have to face and you don't have the advantage in. Should I keep going?

This world is gentler to newcomers than my own is, I think. Than many other worlds. And how long can we really keep using the excuse that it's new? I have already been in Lunatia longer than I ever was in the country where I was living before arriving here.

Saying such a thing makes me quite curious to what kind of world you happen to come from as it was almost... mundane where I came from. Not nearly as exciting as the things that have gone on in this place.

I see. The way I see it, is when you're out of your element, sometimes you need things that can turn a situation in your favor where necessary. Me? I don't live in a place where there's three moons, magic and knights, for example. So if I find something that helps living here go smoother, I'm likely to do it.

I suppose I can imagine a world without magic... after all, it is a relatively rare talent even in my own world. But no knights? Are there no armies at all, then?

Armies exist where i'm from. Each country tends to have one, but there's no knights or supernatural about them.

Just a lot of guns, knives, explosions, tanks and the like. Depends on the country.

I would have expected that at least some of those who handled the guns and knives would be counted as knights...
They are human, though? These armies?

Sure are. All the armies here are human.

I take it that's not something very common where you come from?

Ah, no
I mean, our armies are also humans. For the most part.
But since you were adamant that they were not knights, I thought perhaps they were

Nope. That just sounds like something out of some kind of sci-fi movie, honestly.
I've experienced dealing with a guy who is yellow, can move at mach twenty speeds and has tentacles but that's about as crazy as it gets where I come from.
