[Just a simple little post from username 'Bluemarine', but it's posted for everyone to see and the option to reply in any format you like is there, should you feel like it. Somebody sure has the burning desire to ask everyone a question (or piss off as many people as they can, depending).]

How many of you believe in an afterlife? Or...What I should ask is; how many of you understand that you're slaves to fate and destiny, no matter how unhappy yours might be?

You're welcome to try and change my mind on that front, if you think you have the intellect.

I will not try to change your mind. Where I am from...fate and destiny have set in motion a fight that will repeat itself time and time again. This is true no matter what we do, no matter how many times we gain a victory against the evil plaguing our world...

This might be a strange question, especially considering that a cycle of war sounds more unpleasant to repeat than I can put into words, but I have to ask all the same.

Does knowing that the threat to your prosperity and peace will return bring you calm? Does it allow you to prepare?

In some ways, yes. There is a predictability to some of the stories, and we can prepare for such situations. However...It also gives a level of pressure to meet expectations. I feel I fell far short of those placed on me.

Thank you for answering in earnest. I've been told that saying such things comes off as 'passive-aggressive', but it's a unique perspective that you have on the matter, and I truly do value it.

A truly divine destiny, that of a legend, is a larger burden to bear than the fate of normal people. All you can do is your best to fight on and make the world you want your descendants to protect in turn, I think. After all, no matter what you do, they are the actions of a storied figure and will carry weight no matter how hard it is to see that at the time.
