[Just a simple little post from username 'Bluemarine', but it's posted for everyone to see and the option to reply in any format you like is there, should you feel like it. Somebody sure has the burning desire to ask everyone a question (or piss off as many people as they can, depending).]

How many of you believe in an afterlife? Or...What I should ask is; how many of you understand that you're slaves to fate and destiny, no matter how unhappy yours might be?

You're welcome to try and change my mind on that front, if you think you have the intellect.

Everyone is different. Worlds are different, too. The afterlife depends on the god.

Maybe we can’t change the destiny of all existence, but we can change the way we live within it. People have that power. What do you think?

I've spent a long time feeling like I had no choice. My family's dark history just kept following me. But I made a choice and worked hard to stop it, and it's going well.

It's choices that define you and your action, and luck that makes up the rest. But on a level -- down in our genes -- there's a pre-determined amount that forms what will happen to you.

The End gets everyone eventually. There is no afterlife, no gods or powers of love and light. Just Terminus.

And not even that sometimes.

And destiny is a series of choices. You might not want it, you might not even know you chose it, but you did. You chose it a thousand times over in a thousand small ways.

I don't see much need to change your mind. I know the way of things when it comes to my own existence and where I go when I die.

If you wish to be a slave to whatever binds you that is as far as you will go.

I believe the notion of an afterlife depends on having a life that ends in the first place.

The second point however. Now that stands either way.

As someone else said, "I" have been to Hell.

But I believe in a cycle. I believe we are destined to be reborn and cycle through our lives until our souls believe we have done "right." Then, we are rewarded by being able to do it all over once again.

I suppose it's funny that I'm about to say what I am, considering my weapon is actually called "Destiny's Embrace", but...

As far as I've been able to figure out, what those words mean is, no one's responsible for their actions, our choices mean nothing, and everything was ordained by an outside force beyond our control, so we may as well lie down and do nothing for the rest of our lives because "fate" already has everything set up anyway, so why bother?

Yeah, not accepting that.

When we die, our rukh return to the great flow. In my world at least, that is not a matter of belief, but fact.
However, it is interesting that you would mention fate and destiny. Those who utterly curse their fate are said to have "fallen into depravity"
The rukh in their bodies turn from white to black. And if they die in that state, their souls can never rejoin the great flow

I guess I can’t argue with the idea that there’s a pretty certain binary path for most people back home, which is either that you get reincarnated or you hit enough of a spiritual peak that you can ostensibly keep existing in the Spirit World.

But really, I can’t say that I actually believe in things like fate and destiny beyond there being that technical end point, unless that’s what you’re trying to get at here. I suppose there isn’t really much arguing with the inevitability of death, but I can’t say I’m too bothered by that as much as the idea that there’s something actually governing the actual events of our lives before the end.

I'm not sure about the afterlife... but, I know fate isn't set in stone. People can fight to change their circumstances.

The future is never set in stone.

What do you believe in to be asking such a thing?

I will not try to change your mind. Where I am from...fate and destiny have set in motion a fight that will repeat itself time and time again. This is true no matter what we do, no matter how many times we gain a victory against the evil plaguing our world...

I will not attempt to dissuade you from your beliefs in fate and destiny, as they are naught more but a passing interest. However, do you not believe that you possess the ability to change the course of your life?

I have briefly seen the afterspark.

Or the afterlife, as you called it. I called the spirits of those who had died before, so I'm inclined to believe in its existence.

As for the matter of fate and destiny, every being has the will to make their own choices and change their own life; not to be bound by fate. The future is undetermined.
