[Someone has heard Rasha's voice, but for Don - well. Loving himself is pretty much par for the course.]

So back in my time we have this thing called the Mickey Mouse club. A whole bunch of kids who sing and dance about Mickey Mouse. He's got a song.

Who's the leader of the club
that's made for you and me

And so on, and so forth. he's a talking mouse and he's Disney is amazing. He's pretty damn fantastic. He's not as great as I am but he's still pretty damn good. Where was I.

Anyway this boy band thing for those who are curious seems like the Mickey Mouse club and all of you look stupid in your hats and T-shirts. No class. No style. Nobody has any idea what class or style looks like and the only thing you have to turn to is my era. We defined it.

We peaked in the 60s. I'm at the peak. All there is to it, but I thought I'd provide some insight. Namely that. Children are dumb. And that's what this is.

I suppose so. Still, being great at sex and advertising isn't on the same level as someone who made a worldwide media empire, in my opinion.

...I wish I could say that was the worst pickup line I've ever heard.

Hey. Back home people have seen my work across the world. My work is on billboards. Clearasil, Platex, Folgers, Kodak. I approve all of it. I supervise it and we put it out.

It's not the same league. We're equal in different fields.

Now I gotta know the worst. I mean you can't leave me hanging like that.

Wow, those ARE some pretty big names.

[ Still not as big as, like, Lion King. But she won't argue the point too much. ]

So, my last name is Chambers, and I had to do firearms training before I went into the RPD. While I was at a shooting range, some guy came up behind me and hugged me from behind. He was pretending to help me aim the gun properly, I guess, and he just says...

'Hey, Chambers, I've got something I could put in your chamber.'

I was the one who came up with calling Kodak's projector the carousel.

[yes yes. bow down. worship. never mind Kodak is going out of business.

Don is a lot of things. Don Draper is a lot more things but every part of him recoils.]

How disgustingly immature.


[He'll cheat, he'll hurt, he'll break people. That makes him dangerous. But crass humor? Vile.]

I'm honestly sorry that happened to you.

I still don't think you're better than Disney, but you're definitely doing better than that guy.

Listen I know guys who worked on the Mickey Mouse Club. They've told me some stories. Especially after the strikes...

but thanks. It's appreciated. This place can make a guy feel old fashioned but for some people that might be charming.

You must have a lot of people talking down to you like that. It must be rough.

It's fine. There's nothing I can do about it but prove them wrong. If a guy from the 60s can do better, that's really on them.

I guess so? The worst you've done is tell me you could prove your skills. That's a lot better than a lame pick-up line.

You should see my coworkers. They make me embarrassed to be a man to be honest.

Oh no...I think I can picture it already.

[ She'd worked with police officers. She knew about men that made you embarrassed for other men. Thinking about it caused a melancholy to wash over her...they were all gone, too. All but for the small handful of survivors. ]

I don't really know them. I shouldn't judge.

...Awfully polite of you. I always thought women were okay with gossip but people here ...well.

I guess they just need to learn. People always need to learn.

That's funny. You're the second person to tell me that here.

Maybe it's a Midwestern thing. Or just my experience. Mom always told me you never really know what someone else's life is like. I've been gossiped about enough myself that I don't really want to encourage it.

Sorry if I'm a little nosy. I'm a medic, so I wouldn't want this to be an untreated concussion or anything. Big changes in behaviour can happen after sustaining a head injury, and there's sure been a lot of chances for those lately.

Nope. Just high blood pressure according to my Doctor but what the hell do doctors know.
