Is that what that was.

What are you celebrating?

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-04-30 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

Well, congratulations, I suppose. I don't celebrate holidays.

That's what they're called? I always called them noise makers.

I'm assuming someone else from your world must have placed it on your desk for the occasion, or else that's quite the coincidence.

[Oh.]

Oh.

If you were referring to your birthday, well

I figure that date still carries significance regardless of what world you're in.

Not that I even remember mine.

Happy birthday, though.

I don't actually know how old I am, so I couldn't say.

[He had a vague idea, but there were some years at some point in his life that had made him lose track of time, and by extension, a good chunk of his early childhood. He'd stopped trying to force himself to remember ages ago.]

Did you celebrate when you were younger?
burningfree: (Lio41)

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-02 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You celebrated your birthday by giving thanks to the Gods?

[Lio is pretty sure he misunderstood that.]
burningfree: (Lio8)

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-02 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Huh. So he had read that right.]

What changed that?
burningfree: (Lio23)

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-02 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
You're really on about being 'old', aren't you? Exactly how old do you need to be to end up that jaded?
burningfree: (Lio34)

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-02 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[Uh.]

That isn't old at all. Sounds to me like it had less to do with age and more to do with significant life events.

That, I can relate to.

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-02 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[What the hell!]

I take it back. You are old.

I don't know how this place is still throwing me for a loop. I shouldn't be surprised, but here I am, shocked I'm talking to a 2033 year old man.

Unless you're messing with me.

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-02 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That's unbelievable.

I mean, I know it's probably true, but it's still unbelievable. As far as I know, no one in my world has ever lived much past 100. Is it common to live so long in your world?
burningfree: (Lio41)

[personal profile] burningfree 2020-05-16 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Incredible.

I'm assuming something has kept you alive all this time?

[Now that Lio thought about it, he wasn't actually truly certain how long someone who was burnish could have lived. He wondered, if they'd remained synced with the Promare, if their regenerative properties might have allowed them to live for longer. It certainly hadn't stopped their aging, but injury and disease would never have been a concern.]
