So... just to relieve some boredom:
Has anyone ever had some kind of fictional "creature" turn out to be real for you? Vampires, yetis, ghosts, whatever. Something that was purely fiction for you until some point or another, or that Mulder and Scully would crap themselves over. How accurate are they to the stories, if so?
I'll go first. I know I talked about this already, but... zombies? Used to be a pure movie-and-video-game thing for me. Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later sort of shit. Then they turned out to be real. Mine aren't undead, but they DO mutate, which is kind of bullshit.
Zombie bullshit.
[that's zoey's line but ok rochelle]
"Aliens" is cheating, for the record, but only because we're all going through that right now.
And, uh... if you are a vampire, yeti, ghost, or whatever? That's cool too.
[slowly, she's accepting that these are Real Things she has to consider too]
I'll be real, I was just barely used to the zombie thing by the time I got here. But I'm getting used to the other stuff... a little.

[ Just as a couple of examples. ]
I'm the Goddess of Spring, by the way.

[loooooooooooooooooooooong silence]
... Okay.
[Sorry for the short, unhelpful response, Persephone. Ro has an easier time believing zombies and aliens than demons and gods.
It's the theological things that are somehow harder to accept.]

If you have questions I can try to answer them. [ She smiles and rubs the back of her neck. ]
no subject
[That's SORT of a lie. Ro just doesn't want to say "I don't believe you" to Persephone's face. She doesn't believe the guy who claimed himself a demon, either.
At least this lady is... pink???]
Weird how I understand vampires better than that, huh?
[AWK... LAUGH...]

You know, if this was a few months ago I'd be asking you what a vampire is. Well...I'd be asking you what a zombie is as well. Yeti, though, I don't recognize that word.
no subject
[Now she feels bad that she doesn't have those kind of questions, especially after asking the demon a whole bunch. Blame it on having more first-hand experience with protestant Christianity than Greek mythology. Don't worry, though. She'll ease into it.
At the remark, she pauses... then laughs.]
Honestly? I guess it depends on your story, but they're not crazy exciting. You ever heard of an "abominable snowman"? Kind of the same thing. They're these huge, hairy gorilla-looking things that wander around snowy mountains.
USUALLY not friendly. Or maybe they are. It's one of a LOT of myths, so... like said. Depends on who's telling it.
no subject
[ She's listening pretty intently to the explanation but it's still not something she understands. ]
I've never heard of an abominable snowman or seen snowy mountains before. Actually the first time I saw snow was shortly before I arrived here!
Though if it's a creature of myth the stories may not be so truthful. That's what I've learned recently.

[Anyway--]
Yeah, that's usually the issue. Hang on, though - how's a goddess never seen snow before?
no subject
It never got very cold where I grew up so naturally, snow couldn't happen. Though, sometimes the wind would whip the flower petals up into something resembling falling snow.
no subject
But I think I get what you mean - about snow. Some people just never see it, depending on where they're from. I'm from Cleveland, though. We get a LOT of it.
no subject
I grew up in Sicily.
no subject
[Well. That explains a little.]a
I guess that makes since. I never been, but I don't think Sicily gets much snow.
no subject
I do like the snow despite how cold it is, though. It's very beautiful.

[There's a pause.]
And if you're the goddess of spring, I'm guessing you can't exactly... conjure up snow, either.
[Meaning: she's easing into the "goddess" thing.]
no subject
[ She shakes her head. ]
I can only conjure up flowers and other plants.
no subject
[oh my god Ro you can't just ask people to prove that their gods]
no subject
How's that?
no subject
[She blinks a couple times.]
That's... pretty good.
[Something like that?? Not that it's BAD. "I think I believe it now" just didn't seem like the right phrase.]
no subject
[ She moves off screen to put the rose in some water before returning. ]
I could do a lot more but smaller things like that don't take a lot of Chroma. So it's much easier.
no subject
[Prismatica is weird.]
Pretty, though.
