[Video] U/N: teacupprincess

[Perne is situated at a cosy-looking table in the Azure cafe. Chin in the palm of her hand, she tucks dark hair behind the shell of an ear.

Last time, she asked about a cathedral and couldn't recall getting a direct answer. She has, since then, assumed such a thing doesn't exist. But it did beckon some very interesting religious theory conversation.

This time, she has something different she is hunting for.]

I have found mineself with an alarming amount of free time and wish to invest it somewhere other than excessive and possibly unnecessary thought. I thought I had once heard rumour of a theatre house here in Lunatia. Is that true? I am aware we have other exhibitions of art, but mayhaps something musically or stagecraft inclined could be of benefit to many of us with such interests.

I acted as patron and worked within an opera house back where I hail from. I should like to reprise the role.

I haven't heard anything about a theater, but I would love to do something like that! I play violin and I occasionally would help a performance guild back home before I got too busy for it.

It sounds like there is a group dedicated to theatre of some variety. I have not quite heard all of the details yet. I suspect they could be quite interested in a violinist, however.

[Dark eyebrows knit together as she continues.]

...Come to think of it, I wonder if there is a concert hall here. There must be. In some fashion. [...All things considered.]

I'm not sure about a concert hall but I do know there is an amphitheater. I think that's where most concerts or large events are held.

[Perne decides to share the information Weiss gave her. What is information if not meant to be shared?]

Evidently there is a concert hall as well. Clearly I have been living beneath a rock since I arrived. Although I suppose 'tis possible the amphitheatre and the concert hall are quite the same thing.

If there is a seperate concert hall then they likely share similarities but have enough differences to showcase different types of entertainment. I know the amphitheatre was used for a video game tournament shortly after I arrived here.

I remember that occasion.

[Or she remembers hearing about it. Truthfully Perne attempts to avoid most going ons if she can help it. Partially because she simply isn't a social butterfly by default nature and followed by the idea that she knows some very strange things can happen in Lunatia.

I will have to do some research on the locations more properly. I suspect I should have done this sooner. As much as I make a habit of getting to know the lay of the land, I do not normally take in the sights of the city proper.

It can be overwhelming, if you're not used the environment.

[Lunatia was like a much larger Rata Sum to Ana so she didn't feel as out of place.]

I would like to know more about the music scene here, outside of the... whatever that group of boys was.

I am uncertain how many musicians are here. At least among us Moonblessed. But it sounds like the various performance groups may include musicians. At least, this is the impression I have gotten from the information I have obtained so far.

[Her head tips thoughtfully.]

I suspect your history with violin means you wish to find others to play with, though I imagine you could just as easily issue a concert of your works. Surely there are enough Prismals and Moonblessed cultured here to appreciate just such a thing.

I can play solo but I find it's a much more compelling performance when it's with others. Also tavern music in general requires a lot more people for it to sound properly robust.

[Got to be heard over all the rowdy drunk patrons, after all.]

But if it would help draw others into potentially joining in I'd be willing to give a shot.

Perne has never performed with anyone else, but to be fair, she has never performed at all. Not like that, anyroad.]

I intend to make visit to some of the theatrical establishments. You are welcome to join me if you should like to. I cannot promise it shall be a particularly riveting adventure, but it shall be an educational one at best. Otherwise, I can report back to you mine discoveries.

[Long before her own guild was established, Ana had been close friends with a performance guild in Tyria. Needless to say being friends with such people often means they'll sniff out your talent even if you didn't want to show it off.]

[Perne looks... touched, or something akin to it, at the very idea. Easily pleased? No. Surely not that. But for a woman who does not oft emote much of anything, it is slowly becoming more transparent in her daily affairs.]

If you have a place you enjoy paying visit to, we can meet there, and then we shall see where our feet intend to carry us.

[Ana is used to people who don't wear their heart on their sleeve like she does. The faint show of emotion comes through to her and she returns it with a soft smile of her own.]

I've mostly just been playing in Greatmoon, if not at home.

[Perne pauses for several moments, and it's clear she's trying to think before she speaks.]

I would not be adverse to you playing for me sometime. If you would feel comfortable doing so.

[As someone who has grown up having to constantly perform for others, Perne is quite well aware of what it would be like to be put on the spot like so. It is oft easier to play for one's own enjoyment without the fear of evaluation.]

[Well, it's appreciated. Ana has dealt with plenty of blunt people in her life, and just as many who straight up don't think before speaking, but it's always nice when she comes across those who actually do attempt to be a little more sociable in their behavior.

She smiles lightly.]

I wouldn't mind at all. I did play on the network a while back, but before that it had actually been a couple of years since I'd done anything in front of others. Kind of difficult to keep a violin safe and clean when you're traveling through a battle-torn desert region.

I confess that I would be surprised if anyone thought to bring an instrument through such trying climes. [Both in terms of a literal desert and times of battle.] You never thought to situate yourself in one place? Or mayhaps such a luxury was not available to you. Not everyone is able to do so, after all...

My trip to Elona was more of a mission and there was really way too much going on to stay in one place for long. The cities were few and far between and at most we were staying in tents. Nice tents! But still tents in a desert nonetheless.

I do have a home in Queensdale but it wasn't easy to travel back and forth during that time.

What is it that you do that requires such frequent travel?
Are you a soldier or a sellsword?

[Although it dawns on Perne that these are prying questions as well, she doesn't bother retracting them. She wouldn't take offence if she was refused answers. Anyone is well within their right to hold information close to themselves.]

[Ana doesn't mind prying questions at all. Talking about home is something that keeps her from losing her damn mind here, being the only one from Tyria so far.]

I've been a lot of things, soldier one of them. Currently I'm a guild commander, though.

That sounds a bit like a soldier as well.

[But Perne only says that because of the use of the word 'commander.' When she thinks of commanders, it's easy for her to connect that to the very same individuals who issued orders to her brothers.]

What is the difference between being a guild commander and a soldier?

Freedom, mostly. I'm not restricted to the whims of a higher command, therefore I can call on my guild to help with whatever we're capable of and not have to wait for someone else to decide if it's "important" enough. Also we're not restricted to soldiers. We have a good collection of people with varying skills that can be put to use at any time. Also, not all guilds are battle or relief focused. There are ones that are strictly entertainment, textiles, food and resources, and so many others.

Oh, I see.

[She nods slowly. Dion, and the others can quite obviously not say the same thing considering the state of their affairs.]

I suppose the life of a soldier is a bit more restrictive. Mine brothers are all military men. Your guild sounds like quite a bit of a different world in comparison to the stories they have told me.

The way you make it sound, it is almost as if this guild of yours is a bit like an extended family. How... sweet.

[In a sappy, sentimental fashion.]

That was one of many reasons I created the guild. I already had something of an extended family as it was, but I knew there were many others who could use a place to belong and make use of their less common skills.

Tyria is a world that's almost constantly in some sort of peril and while I don't look down upon those who decide to take the military route for whatever reason I just found myself wanting to do so much more but being restricted by having to answer to higher ranks.

That said I'm still friends with a lot of people I met in those places and several have even become valuable allies to my guild.

[She sounds.
Like a Warrior of Light. Like the Warrior of Light. Or at least, whatever Perne imagines it would be like to be in such a situation.]

Your world, this... Tyria, sounds complicated. But then, I suppose most worlds are. Nothing is ever as easy as we might like it to be. Simplicity tends to come hand-in-hand with traps and difficulties. Mayhap complication is better. Adversity makes us strong as individuals and as unified forces. I would not be surprised at all if those within your... society thought something of the same.

It can be stressful, but I think the opposite would be complacency, and that would just result in no one being willing to take up arms when it was absolutely needed.

I've... had my fair share of moments where I thought it was too much, where I almost walked away because someone said the wrong thing when I was most vulnerable [Joko's "Reasons You Suck" speech being one of the big ones] but in the end I know I would feel worse for not stepping up when it was necessary.
