[Video] U/N: teacupprincess

[Perne is situated at a cosy-looking table in the Azure cafe. Chin in the palm of her hand, she tucks dark hair behind the shell of an ear.

Last time, she asked about a cathedral and couldn't recall getting a direct answer. She has, since then, assumed such a thing doesn't exist. But it did beckon some very interesting religious theory conversation.

This time, she has something different she is hunting for.]

I have found mineself with an alarming amount of free time and wish to invest it somewhere other than excessive and possibly unnecessary thought. I thought I had once heard rumour of a theatre house here in Lunatia. Is that true? I am aware we have other exhibitions of art, but mayhaps something musically or stagecraft inclined could be of benefit to many of us with such interests.

I acted as patron and worked within an opera house back where I hail from. I should like to reprise the role.

[So there is a theatre group. Although a 'group' may not be mutually exclusive with a threatre house. Such things exist within Eorzea akin to travelling theatre 'troupes.' Perne cannot help wondering what The Golden Muse actually is.

She nods politely as Weiss continues.]

This is something located here, then? In Lunatia, I mean. I have not seen it, though I confess that I have not been here so terribly long. It is possible that I have missed it and not granted it the attention it more properly deserves.

Mm-hm. The Golden Theatre is where we perform, usually. [ It is, in fact, the third biggest theatre house in the city! ] I've actually never performed at the amphitheatre before, but some people said that there used to be stageplays there by the Golden Muse before the theatre was built.

Writing season's about to end, and we'll be introduced to our new production soon. It's usually during the summer that we have musicals.

I see...

[There's a pause and her head tips before she continues.]

Is there a... roster of some sort that I can peruse? Or mayhaps, an executive. That is, to see if issuing mine assistance would be of any help at all. [It's a strange way to ask it, but she doesn't seem inclined to lend herself if she isn't practical to the cause.]

I think you can search for the group's history online.

[ A little information here, but the Golden Muse has been around for a handful of years now and have produced the biggest stageplays and musicals in Lunatia. Weiss joined some time last year when they opened auditions for Moonblessed as a means of improving her singing. She's an amateur actress, however. ]

Do you sing, or are you someone who prefers to be behind the scenes?

[Weiss will have to excuse while she very specifically does look into it. And what she finds is more than she had hoped for. Wonderful. She will have plenty of information to share with Aymeric and the others. And anyone else she happens upon with an interest in such things...

The question directed at her causes her to pause a moment and she adjusts her attention appropriately.]

I have a background in a variety of performing arts. It was part of mine tutelage and mine grooming. Although I am more interested in whatever the theatre group may benefit from.

[ No worries there! Weiss doesn't mind so long as more people are read about the group and what they do. It's nice for more people to join!! Weiss is certainly eager to make new friends— Moonblessed, in particular— who are into the arts like her. ]

There aren't a lot of Moonblessed in the group, actually. The audience seems to be excited when productions have Moonblessed participating in them— whether it's in the music or the actors themselves. I wish the backstage people would get as much credit, and they do sometimes... I just wish it'd be more consistent, you know?

[ They should be on posters, too! ]

That has always been the consequence of being one behind the scenes. One can put in so much of the effort and receive no recognition for it.

[She has been there as well. If she were someone who actually liked attention, mayhaps that would displease her. As such, she seems fairly unmoved by it personally.]

It would seem we have need to expose more of the Moonblessed to theatre, then. We are something of a new commodity. Precious, mayhaps, to the Prismals. People are oft intrigued by what is new and unfamiliar. That may be the reason for audience response as it is.

I know there's 3CLIPSE, too— it's Eichi Tenshouin's agency. It's all Moonblessed though, as far as I know. They do acting, singing, dancing, all kinds of entertainment.

[ Just something she's remembered now! ]

That's true, though. I think Prismals and Moonblessed alike would continue watching the shows the group puts on if it's showing all kinds of cultures.

[ Oh man! That just gave her an idea... What if she suggests a musical or a play from her own world? Or one of those things she's heard before... Romeo and Juliet? Something from Earth? That would be so interesting. A Prismal adaptation! ]

[Eichi Tenshouin. Another mouthful. And yet another one unfamiliar to her. She tries to commit to memory, but Perne suspects it won't exactly be that convenient. She's so much better with faces than she is with names, even if she doesn't really want to admit it.

As Weiss continues, she nods along.]

I would like to think that many of us are fascinated by the differences in cultures and traditions. To come here and not be seems like a waste of perfectly good knowledge. [There are fewer things that Perne likes more than knowledge and information. Both can, at times, be sharper than a blade, and prove more practical.] How long have you been a part of such things, mine lady?

I've been here for fourteen months already, so... thirteen months. I joined as soon as I could, actually.

[ She likes to sing and dance! She's learning how to act better, and she's actually been improving a lot— enough that she's gotten some main character leads in some productions— two in fact! It's been a good year for her with the company, if anything. ]

I'm learning a lot and improving in my craft because of it.

I can imagine, considering the amount of time you have been here.

[Master Torchier would have loved her, truly. At least, so thinks Perne.]

With the overabundance of free time we seem to have, I suspect a good deal of it can be used for such pursuits. What other sorts of things do you like?

[Because if Weiss likes the theatre arts, it is possible she might like others things that coincide with Perne's interests. She may have other ideas on Perne can spend her time doing things other than thinking. And moonlacing. And thinking about moonlacing.]

Oh! I enjoy reading and playing the piano. When it comes to this place, I particularly enjoy learning more and more about Demichroma crystals and powder, and experimenting with them.

[ Perne, she is a nerd... ]

When I have the free time, I like to go to the library and arrange the books following the system they have here.

[ SHE IS A NERD. ]

[...They do have quite a bit in common, actually. Right from instruments (related, though not identical), a pursuit of knowledge, and organisational desires...

Perne isn't certain she's ever met someone so aligned to her interests before.]

What a peculiar happenstance. In some ways, 'tis as though you were simply another version of mineself from another world. I never would have imagined meeting a reflection of mine here.

[Or anywhere. They can be nerds together.]

[ That actually gets her to laugh. ]

Really? [ That's so cool! ] I'm always all about being myself, but I don't mind if there's someone else like me. It just means that we might get along, right?

[She nods slowly. Yes, there is perhaps a sliver of humour in all of this, though Perne is hard to stir toward humour sometimes. If anything, she is simply still marvelling over having much of anything in common with someone. She's accustomed to being... very on her own. Standing out? She's not sure how to say it.

This is a very heavy realisation.]

I suspect that you and I, mine lady, are of familiar spirits. I think 'getting along' is only the beginning of it.

Then... Why don't you tell me more about yourself? How old are you? When is your birthday? What's your favourite colour?

[ She's a lot more eager to have this conversation now than earlier. Of course, she'd been in a good note since the start of their conversation, but she seems a lot more bubbly now. ]

[...She's very excitable. Perne, admittedly, isn't sure how to initially respond, even. This is many things at once.]

I—

[A pause and she smiles gently.] Surely I should not issue all of mine secrets upfront. How else will I manage to keep your interest?

Oh! I completely understand.

[ She nods a couple of times. It's not seen on the video feed, but she holds her hand with the other as she nods. Weiss can be very obedient, if only because she craves the approval of people she's interested in and likes. ]

I'm sorry to ask.

You need not apologise. I confess that I am not accustomed to such interest being shown in me. [Or so directly.]

If you are expecting to learn anything grand, I fear I may disappoint you. I have been sheltered for a good deal of mine life and thus mine worldly experiences are relatively few. I do like plants, however, and studied them from where I came. I have been doing that here also since I arrived.

I want to learn more about plants and flowers! [ Ah, she flaps a hand, like "guuurl". ] Oh, you see, I've always liked to look at them, but now I want to have some in my apartment, but I don't know how to take care of them.

So I mostly have fake flowers around.

I see...

[Perne thumbs at her chin for some moments.]

I confess that I am not so well-versed on the plants here, but I suspect I may be able to help you by providing some of mine observations. If you balance the proper caretaking with light, water, food, and adequate pruning of foliage, I do not think it should be too difficult for you. Not all plants require the same level of commitment or time.

Mayhaps you had something in mind?

There are these crystal roses... they look like regular roses, but there are parts of it that are crystals, and the colours are different.

[ Those are the ones she likes! ]

I just know they're supposed to be in water constantly, but that's it. Do you know how to take care of regular roses? Maybe they're the same.

Oh... I could just buy a book for this, I'm sure, but hearing someone else's experience would do me some good, too. I just know it.

[When Weiss makes mention of the crystal roses, Perne immediately thinks of the crystal trees that were about during Firalia. She, at the time, grabbed some samples of the sprouts, but aside from that, she's still been studying their properties. How they acquired such an appearance and what the various uses could be gleaned from such study and observation.

It is possible the roses in question could be related. It could also be an atmosphere effect.]

Regular roses do not require an excess of water. Most plants that are not sub-aquatic should not need it. Otherwise you can drown the roots. The crystal roses in question, are these native to here, mine lady? Related to the crystal trees, mayhaps?

[ Perne might suddenly see Weiss looking down. It's impossible to see what she's doing, but she's writing down what Perne is saying on her notebook! ]

Sub-aquatic... I see. Then I don't need to water them so much. Do they constantly need trimming, or something? Maybe I can start taking care of flowers that aren't that high-maintenance first... Until I learn more— oh! [ Now she's looking at the camera again. ] Yes, they are. I've certainly never seen anything like it in Remnant.

They look like glass, but when you touch them, they're actually very soft! I think they may be similar to the crystal trees... then again, there are so many things in this world that have crystals in them and on them.

[Settling her chin in the palm of her hand, she mulls over Weiss' information. So educational conjecture was at least marginally correct... She still has some samples she took from the trees during that time. They're not as potent now, she thinks, considering she has simply preserved them for observational study.

...She should get herself some of these roses as well.]

Constantly? I would not put it like so. Other roses, that is—those that are not glass require routine maintenance. They climb and can easily become unwieldy otherwise. It is possible these glass roses may be akin to. Although pruning for a sub-aquatic species—if that is what they are—may prove an interesting feat. It is possible if you allow them their own enclosure that they may not need the same attention to detail.

[...But how will she keep them looking nice?]

It is also possible that merchants here may supply some form of growth-slowing formula that will delay the need for such maintenance. I too, will have to do some research to see what I can find for you.

[A pause, and then.]

We ought to go together, mine lady. A learning experience for us both.
