[Perne is situated at a cosy-looking table in the Azure cafe. Chin in the palm of her hand, she tucks dark hair behind the shell of an ear.

Last time, she asked about a cathedral and couldn't recall getting a direct answer. She has, since then, assumed such a thing doesn't exist. But it did beckon some very interesting religious theory conversation.

This time, she has something different she is hunting for.]

I have found mineself with an alarming amount of free time and wish to invest it somewhere other than excessive and possibly unnecessary thought. I thought I had once heard rumour of a theatre house here in Lunatia. Is that true? I am aware we have other exhibitions of art, but mayhaps something musically or stagecraft inclined could be of benefit to many of us with such interests.

I acted as patron and worked within an opera house back where I hail from. I should like to reprise the role.

( Isabela nods. )

That's fair. Sometimes you don't until the moment presents itself. I certainly didn't.

If you do not know what it is like, then how could one know the moment when it presents itself?

[It sounds like such a silly question, but the truth is that it's a very earnest one and it betrays a great deal of Perne's naivety. Her sheltered demeanour.]

I feel as if I might recognise something more if I had experience with it. Although I suppose whilst I am here, I have plenty of time to attempt to understand that, nay...?

( She smiles in agreement. )

You've nothing but time on your hands here. Why not make the most of it?

( There's definitely less impressing nobles and that sort of tosh in Perne's future, Isabela feels that for certain. )

As for how you know when the moment comes...

( A pause. )

You won't question yourself. That's how.

That sounds impossible to me. I have spent most of mine life questioning what I am doing. If I have done the right thing. If I will continue to do the right thing. If there is a point to doing the right thing. I cannot imagine what it would be like to not question mineself.

[A sad truth.]

I suppose I ought to be more vigilant in mine observations.

[boobytraps]

( A laugh. )

Perhaps the trick is to stop thinking so much. You'll only give yourself a headache that way.

If it were that simple, I might have done that winters ago. Although I shall certainly keep that in deep consideration.

That is the exact opposite of what I suggested, but okay.

Well, I cannot make a decision or an observation without thinking about it, aye? I only meant I will not overthink it. I will think on it only just enough to guide me forward. 'Tis the least I can do in the face of what navigating you have already drawn me toward.

Here's a challenge for you: what if for a day, you just did whatever you wanted, indulged whatever whimsy took your fancy, without worrying about the consequences?

[Perne taps at her chin thoughtfully.]

I am not someone who makes promises. But an attempt can be made.

[What she isn't saying is that it sounds terribly daunting...]

( If anything, Isabela seems excited by the idea. )

Oh, I would not wish to be an imposition to you...

[She suspects Isabela would interpret it as quite the opposite, really. Considering that she's even still willing to speak with Perne is saying something.]

But if you insist it would not be too much trouble for your involvement... I could be persuaded to permit your assistance with such matters.

( Satisfied that she's being allowed to assist, Isabela grins. )

Oh, I insist. I insist!

Of... course you do.

[See that hesitation? Perne wonders if mistakes have been made.]

Do you not think you are getting a little too enthused about all of this? I assure you, it will likely only be very troublesome and annoying.

[boobytraps]

( There's no dissuading her now! )

Ah, but that's what makes it fun, sweet thing.

[Sweet thing. By the Fury...]

You are such a very odd woman.

[But after a moment's long pause, Perne actually smiles.] And yet a refreshing one, as ever.

I'll take that as a compliment.

( With one last waggle of the eyebrows, she reiterates. )

( A wink! )

I shall deliver unto you a message when I am ready for such.

[There is another moment's hesitance and she issues something that never seems to be easy coming from a repressed Ishgardian.]
