Greetings, my name is Obi-Wan Kenobi. And this is my compatriot and partner, Anakin Skywalker. We hail from Coruscant and are part of the Jedi Order.

The Jedi are keepers of peace … most of the time.

[ Before Obi-Wan can say anything, Anakin looks over at him with a shrug. ]

I’m just saying.

[ Obi-Wan sighs. ]

Yes. Well, nevertheless. We would like to offer our services to the public. We’ve been trained in negotiation, trade and, yes, the art of a good fight. If you need support or bereft of someone to help you . . . then we’re happy to serve.

And blowing things up. We’re good at that too!

[ Obi-Wan looks skyward as if imploring a higher deity. ]

Yes. We’re good at that too.

Well, there certainly are plenty of situations that happen here where people who can fight are needed.

[Case in point: last month. Or the month before that. Or several of the months before that. ]

Are you two the only Jedi that are here right now? Or at least the only two that you know about?

[Her own groups numbers sure have... well, diminished since she first arrived, after all. ]

I believe there is another, but we're the only two from our Order.

[ rey is a jedi certainly, but she doesn't hail from their time period. ]

I see. There was another person I knew who was here a while back who was also a Jedi, but she's been gone for a while.

[ And there only being one other here would explain why she hadn't really heard much about them since Kerra left, but considering the similar missions that keyblade wielders and Jedi have that's also not unexpected. ]

I don't know what type of offers you're going to get from this message, but you might also want to consider coordinating with the Moon Knights. At least for the the more widespread issues that happen that could use someone who can fight. Or blow stuff up for that matter.

What was her name?

[ he didn't think others had been here. he hadn't heard anything from rey. ]

The Moon Knights seem more militaristic. I would rather avoid falling under that umbrella.

[ which feels hypocritical, but obi-wan would prefer to operate alone. ]

Her name's Kerra Holt.

[ Though from what little she had been able to gleam about how the Jedi worked from her, that order was probably big enough that it was entirely possible that he'd never heard of her.

As for his comment about the Moon Knights...]

Oh, I'm not suggesting joining them full time. Or at all really. I'd... honestly be a big hypocrite if I were suggesting that. Just that... well, when a wide scale emergency happens it might make more sense to work alongside them rather than try to do something on your own.

[ hmm. sounds unfamiliar which is odd. there aren't many jedi around, after all. ]

You make a fair point. I suppose an alliance cannot hurt.

[ Yep. Seems like he hadn't heard of Kerra. Otherwise he'd probably had said something related to her.]

It's definitely better than all of us scrambling to help with a crisis with no idea what's going on, at least.

How many of those can one place have?

It seems like it happens here around once a month. And unfortunately it seems to be a different issues each time, so there isn't even some sort of consistent threat for us to be preparing for.

Maybe there's more to the history of this place than we realized.

[bubbleblaster]

There is. There was a calamity in the distant past that caused a lot of the history of this world to be lost. Including what the calamity even was, though there is information about what happened after it the the archives.

[jedies]

I have heard a little about that.

But not about the Calamity. The records were lost?

That's what I've been told every time I ask about it to the natives. And after being here so long I don't really have any reason to doubt that they aren't telling the truth.

... Though it is still worrying that something could happen to wipe out everything like that.

Well, at least that means my skills won't go rusty. How often are there situations like that?

Honestly? Almost monthly. There are some months when nothing happens, but they're really the exception that proves the rule.

I guess Obi-Wan I will be staying busy then. And here I thought we'd get a vacation.

[That last part? He's mostly joking]

[ Aqua can't help but giggle a little at the vacation comment. ]

If only. From what I can tell, a lot of us who've been brought here could really use one of those.

[ She certainly could. Not that she would ever actually take one, but that really only proves the point, doesn't it?]

It certainly seems that way, though I don't think Obi-Wan even understands the concept of vacation.

I'm sure that if you talked to any of my friends from back home who are here, they'd probably say the same thing about me.

Does that mean you're the no-fun-allowed constantly doing something productive type?

Perhaps a little grumpy too?

... Okay, the first thing is more true than the second.

[ She was usually trying to get other people out of trouble, after all.]

Nothing wrong with that. It's always a good idea to have at least one voice of reason around.

[That voice is usually not Anakin]

Yeah. I'm well aware of that.

[ Terra and Ven weren't usually all that bad, considering everything, but still.]
