Would anyone happen to have any advice on how to handle excessive shedding? My pet and I are making so much of a mess of the apartment right now that I can hardly keep up with cleaning it all.

[ He doesn't actually consider his Arcanine like a "pet" but he has no other real way of knowing what else to call his Pokemon without it leading to questions. ]

I'm also wondering if it's supposed to be limited to fur or if shedding includes losing normal hair for Moonblessed.

[ Please say it's just because of the fur and his body is confusing one for the other. He doesn't want to hear that he's shedding AND balding. ]

I promise that I do literally mean he's my pet. He's actually an animal, not a person. Technically he's a Pokemon but I know not everyone here is familiar with Pokemon.

Is there something wrong with my username? People make usernames that describe them and mine describes me.

You can count me among those who are unfamiliar with Pokemon. Though is his shedding not something you've had to deal with in the past?

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just uncannily similar to a phrase my partner uses.

[The irony here is that Lio's username is literally just his last name and he's in his 20's.]

No harm done. I'm only glad to clear up any confusion. My pet does shed normally, but it tends to be very minimal. We come from a region that has a tendency to remain relatively cool throughout the year. Even our summers aren't that warm, so he retains his full coat through many months.

Oh, is it? I have to commend him then, I enjoy it! I have an affinity to fire, and while I'm rather old I like to imagine I have a very lively spirit still. Both of those details were what came to mind when I decided to create this username.

Ah, I see. I wish I could be more help, but I've never had a pet before. I imagine if I did have something like a dog, it would have shed quite a lot. It remained relatively hot year round where I was from - I lived in the desert near a chain of active volcanoes.

I'm hoping it'll only be a temporary setback. Humans don't exactly have the necessity to shed for the seasons, but with these extra animalistic features, it includes natural habits that need to simply be adapted to. I'll just have to bide my time, but a nuisance is still a nuisance, and cleaning my apartment regularly means less time for me to get through my usual routine.

[ He can't even visit the gym, the most time he gets is just for regular walks, which helps, but it doesn't feel like enough. ]

Let me see if I can explain. My pet is known as a Pokemon, and it has the ability to use fire. Pokemon of that sort are referred to simply as fire types. So, I keep and use fire type Pokemon. Thus my affinity to fire.

The moons only last five days out of the month - well, ten, actually, since there's a triple moon midway through. From what I've seen and heard from others, the changes aren't always consistent, either. I had a friend who apparently was a dog last month turn into a dragon this month.

So hopefully it won't be a constant issue?

[No worse than 'that time of the month' some half of the population would get anyway.]

That's... amazing. I've never heard of an animal that was able to wield fire.

My partner is a firefighter, which is why he likes to say he has a 'burning soul.' Maybe it's a bit counter intuitive, but it makes sense if you get to know him.

My features have remained consistent, so I didn't know there was the possibility of different options of appearance. Admittedly being a dragon would not be terribly imposing of a thought, but I think I like simply having an extra tail the most.

Your partner is a firefighter? I can see why he would feel that way then. In fact you two coincidentally have a wonderful partnership. You sound like you suit each other well.

Hah, I hope so. He once described us as 'oil and water becoming one' which, honestly, is the most accurate description for our relationship I can think of.

I'd love to meet this Pokemon of yours. I can't use fire anymore, but I imagine we'd have a lot in common.

What an interesting relationship! I always enjoy seeing people defeat unfavorable odds like that.

I think Arcanine would enjoy your company. Pokemon are very intuitive creatures, so perhaps he may be able to sense something special about you. You should join us for training some day.

I'd like that a lot. I need to better my physical skills now, given this place's track record for being dangerous, and my loss of my other skills.

Perhaps after the moon has passed and your shedding is no longer an issue?
