His hair's a mess, his mustache isn't faring much better, and he's pacing back and forth judging by the movement of the screen. Of course, the obvious solution is staring him right in the face, but he's ignoring that right now.

He's not even sure why he's bothering with the network. He was intending to suffer in silence, get this over with, get back to what passes for normal around here. But he wants to talk to people. Since fucking when? People are the last thing he needs, ever, but especially now.

Every moon cycle has their own risks.
Sanguis sounds respectable on paper, but think of it in terms of how many punches you can take before you go down? How well you can handle yourself fighting bare handed? Or how well you can talk your way out of having acted on a random violent urge?

Then again, suppose there's never a bad reason to keep a handful of sedative on hand.

Of course the far larger risk is that if you're unfortunately, only a human, there's almost a guarantee of finding something or someone with some physically impossible power or strength you can't do much about no matter how strong you are or what weapons you have.

As I said though, never a bad reason to have sedatives on hand. Whether it's for yourself or someone else.

You'd be surprised just how much you can do to a human brain before it's truly damaged.

Then again positive reinforcement has better results that than positive punishment, which is why denied instinct is always more exploitable than controlled instinct. Both of those things being why messing with engineers has been funny since the 60s.
