magic in our world isn’t a birth granted thing, unless you consider the luck of being born into a magic family. there are people to whom it comes easier, like anything else, but it isn’t an inherent ability so much as a trained skill

that being said there are spells that can keep casters from using magic
the police use them, they are pretty heavy duty and they keep the ritual an intensely guarded secret
but yeah i know them

not sure anyone would actually want them, tho

I wouldn't be opposed to discussing it, or even practicing it. Demichroma does require a bit of finesse to use, but seasoned magic users should find it easy to apply and get used to. [ A pause. ]

depends on the enchantment

but essentially i cast a spell on an object to imbue it with an ability permanently
one of my first magical streams was textile magic, where you literally weave the magic into the fabric of your clothes

minor spells do things like adjust a t-shirt to your body temperature requirements - cold when you’re too hot and hot when you’re too cold, that sort of thing

major spells do things like keep people from noticing you or protecting you from attacks

So he turns the video on, and smile's widely. He's a very friendly looking 23 year old with warm brown skin, dark freckles and vibrant green eyes who never seems to stop moving as he's talking. ]

That depends on the enchantment! I started out enchantments with textile magic, so weaving spells directly into fabric, but these days I can use just about any magic branch to fashion it into an enchantment. Talismans, charms, amulets, whatever, I can modify it. But I'm always happy to talk shop to anyone who's interested.

i'm exalted sanguis by the way. apparently we generate more chroma than others during our cycle. so it shouldn't take much.

problem is the sword i used to use for part of it kinda
broke
back home and i havent gotten a replacement here

even if i did im not really sure itd be the same as the one i had cause kurikara was tied to my powers

just about anything you can think of, really

not weaponized spells but things like a scarf that will heat up when you’re too cold or glasses that will never get wet or dirty, or earrings that works like headphones, or shoes that make the sound of your footfalls disappear. That’s the easy minor stuff.

Wards, cloaking magic, protective magic - that’s the upper level stuff that takes a lot more input.

But basically, if there’s something you want an object to do, tell me what it is and I’ll tell you if I can do it.

You want a pendant that can literally glow with sunlight? I got you. Clothes that never need to be washed? Done.
