It is not a wrong answer. However, the choice is ... predictably abnormal.

Well going by your post, 3 seems to be the obvious answer.

A far more interesting question is to why people have favorite numbers at all.

It is an obvious answer, isn't it?

Because they feel a connection to that number. They feel like it has deep meaning to them, of course. If that number comes up for them while they are out and about, they feel a little more at ease in their heart. "Ah, something good will happen today." It's a placebo, perhaps, but I think there is meaning in it.

I never thought about it that way. Is that what numbers do for you?

It is what I like.

Numbers do that for me. They are something that I love and something that I hate.

Hm, I see. It's not quite the same thing but I feel a similar pull towards music.

[ He didn't hate music before Ego but now he can't heard the song 'Brandie' without having a visceral reaction. ]

I don't think I could live without it.

I also don't think I could live without numbers. Not just in how they're useful and helpful in many ways, but also... just being without them would make life lonely for me.

It's been part of my life since I was little My mother loved it and I guess you could say she passed on said love onto me.

It's comforting, isn't it? When you know the thing that works for you. Are you a mathematician then?

That is very comforting. A mother's love is really quite wonderful.

I'm afraid that I'm not a mathematician, though. I just happen to be attached to numbers.

Yes it is. I thought I wouldn't miss her so much once I grew up but...some things never change, you know?

AH, well, then you just enjoy them for fun.

I apologize. I was never very close to my parents so I can't relate to your feelings, but I do feel sympathy for your plight.

And I can't say I enjoy them for fun, either.

Yup! I just think about them all the time.

In that case, you could try to make new friends among the moonblessed we're all stuck here.

I hope people will be friends with me. I've never had any friends before so I can only hope it works out.

Yeah sure, do what makes you more comfortable. Don't worry about it.

[ He like using video because it's quicker but Peter understands that not everyone shares his tastes. ]

But I really don't care about looks at all. I grew up in space, I've seen people with all sorts of unusual appearances. You should meet my team. One's a talking raccoon with an affinity for building booms, another is a walking tree that can only speaks three words. Nebula is a cyborg and also blue, Mantis has antennae and my own girlfriend is green....

Oh and you can just call me Peter.

I can't help but feel you'll change your mind if you see me, ha ha.

But all that is pretty amazing. Well, saying that it's amazing is putting it lightly, isn't it? I've only ever existed on Earth and so I can't fathom seeing such beings like that... I say while communicating to someone on an alien planet. :) Certain things are still beyond me, though.

I can't really tell you for sure what will happen if you ever do, but known that it won't be my intention to offend you.

[ He knows that some people have odd looks and Peter is not going to pretend he isn't sometimes still surprised but he generally gets over things like that pretty quickly. ]

Hahs, there you go...never say never. Life is already so weird that sometimes aliens just happen. I was born on Earth too but I ended in space when I was 8 years old, after decades traveling the Galaxy you meet a lot of interesting and usual people. To them, I was the odd one, of course.

I am. And what should I call you? Or that too will remain a mystery?
