[ After playing around with the device for a bit, now that they finally have time to settle in after the vine madness, Fish has the thing mounted nicely at an angle high enough to give the network a nice view of their head to the top of their shoulders—much like a beauty blogger really. They’ve got an eye for beauty and they put it to use here. They have a bare face at the moment, but it’s still a pretty face with smooth purple skin that fades to lilac on their face, their throat, and the front of their chest. ]

I suppose if everyone is using this thing to ask questions, I might as well ask one of my own.

[ They take a small brush loaded with sea green pigment and draw it over each of their eyelids as a thick eyeliner with practiced, precise movements. ]

Cosmetics and clothing. Has anyone gone shopping recently? I’ve noticed this place is just far too different from the one I know. So I think I could use some guidance. Or some company. Company preferable.

[ They chuckle to the camera and shimmy their shoulders, like a practiced coquettish performer. They pop open a small glass jar of deep purple pigment and another brush. And they quickly fill in their lips with the same neatness as their eyes. ]

There is a lot I want to acquire if I’ll be staying here for a while. So, let me know if you’d like to go shopping.

Oh, by the way. In case we haven’t met... you can call me “Fish”.

[ They wink. ]

[A young lady’s face with two white horns poking through her bright pink hair appears. Her red eyes brighten as she smiles.]

I would enjoy accompanying you on a shopping trip, Fish-san. It’s been so long since I last shopped for clothes, about a year at least.

[She did buy some clothes during her time with Audentes, but most of those times were usually for the sake of the missions rather than pure enjoyment, so shopping for fun sounds lovely.]

My name is Nyuu, by the way. Pleased to meet you. [She gives a small bow of her head.] Um, could I ask you something?

[ Oh! A cute girl! Now this was the kind of shopping friend Fish was hoping for. Though ideally they’d also like to find someone knowledgeable with the cosmetics and fashions in this world. Fish visibly brightens up. ]

A pleasure to meet you too, Nyuu! I’d be glad to have you along for a shopping trip! Someone cute like you definitely ought to have something just as adorable!

And sure, feel free to ask me anything.

[She giggles.]

Thank you. You're very lovely yourself, Fish-san. I've never seen anyone with your looks before.

[Nyuu's used to being called cute in a friendly way, so if there was any flirting in Fish's words, it (unfortunately) flies over her head. Likewise, her compliment carries no seductive tone.]

Are you a... a merfolk?

[Fish’s appearance had caught Nyuu's attention first, immediately reminding her of the old fishermen’s tales of ningyo back in her home town of Kamakura, except Fish looks much prettier than what tradition dictates how merfolk look.]

Thank you, darling. I do my best to look my best.

[A little shoulder shimmy and a flick of their wrist against their head, as if flipping back long hair. But Fish only has short hair, so it's not as fabulous as their gesturing is.

Just like Nyuu, all Fish's words are friendly than flirty. She's too cute to be their type to flirt with, honestly. But they'd love to be friends.]

And yes, I am a merfolk! I'm glad you picked that up!

[Her eyes light up.]

I thought so! I just couldn't believe it at first since I've only heard legends of merfolk back home. I know it's a bit ironic, considering I have horns, but it's true. You're the first one I've met.

[She puts her hands together with a gentle clap.]

I would love to hear more about you whenever we decide to go shopping together. Did you have a meeting place in mind?

[The moment Fish sees her eyes light up, they swore their heart felt like it had just been stolen. What is this sorcery?? Why is she so cute?? She is precious.]

Really? I'm honored to be the first merfolk you've met. And I would love to tell you more! I'm a bard, after all. It's part of my talent to tell people stories.

[A breath as they think of where to meet.]

To be honest, I had nothing in particular but... there does seem to be a lovely bakery not too far from the apartment block where I am. I'm guessing that most of us Moonblessed are here, so hopefully you know of that place too?

[She swears she’s not trying to make people’s hearts explode on purpose, but then she lets out a soft gasp.]

A bard, really? That’s amazing! I enjoy singing, too.

[Though it’s in a different fashion from what a bard does.]

I do. I’ve haven’t been to it yet, but that’s why it’d be a great place to meet, and I was hoping we could chat over some tea.

[Tea time is another thing Nyuu hasn’t been able to do for some time, which is a real shame in her opinion.]
