[ After playing around with the device for a bit, now that they finally have time to settle in after the vine madness, Fish has the thing mounted nicely at an angle high enough to give the network a nice view of their head to the top of their shoulders—much like a beauty blogger really. They’ve got an eye for beauty and they put it to use here. They have a bare face at the moment, but it’s still a pretty face with smooth purple skin that fades to lilac on their face, their throat, and the front of their chest. ]

I suppose if everyone is using this thing to ask questions, I might as well ask one of my own.

[ They take a small brush loaded with sea green pigment and draw it over each of their eyelids as a thick eyeliner with practiced, precise movements. ]

Cosmetics and clothing. Has anyone gone shopping recently? I’ve noticed this place is just far too different from the one I know. So I think I could use some guidance. Or some company. Company preferable.

[ They chuckle to the camera and shimmy their shoulders, like a practiced coquettish performer. They pop open a small glass jar of deep purple pigment and another brush. And they quickly fill in their lips with the same neatness as their eyes. ]

There is a lot I want to acquire if I’ll be staying here for a while. So, let me know if you’d like to go shopping.

Oh, by the way. In case we haven’t met... you can call me “Fish”.

[ They wink. ]

[Oh hey, a familiar face! Ed's not exactly one for shopping, but he does have his own sense of fashion.]

If you're looking for a particular style of clothes I can always transmute something for you.

[Though he very likely might sully it with his own warped sense of taste.]

A shopping trip would be fun.

And it’s been a long while since I’ve worn anything nice.

[Being a soldier and a prisoner does not give anyone much opportunity to dress up fancy.]

[And Temple wants something elegant to wear for his date with Taako, to really sweep him off his feet. He supposes he could just make a custom thing with Chromawear buut... now that he’s thinking about it, this does seem like it could be a better option.]

[He just hopes that he won’t regret using video to reply to Fish. The other is really pretty and really charming, and Temple is sure that he can’t possibly compare to him.]

[Fish kind of squints with suspicion towards Ed. Him? Transmute them some clothes? Though Fish does really appreciate his talents, they aren't very sure about his taste and fashion know-how.]

Would you happen to know the difference between a corset and a cincher?

Really now? Well, though I wanted to shop for myself, I might as well help you if you really haven't worn anything nice in a while. That's a pity. I think everyone should own a couple of nice, high-quality garments.

[That's no worry, Temple. To Fish, most other people are... fish food. And you are looking like a snack. A bland snack, but a snack nonetheless.]

[Temple smiles at Fish.]

I would really appreciate it. Especially since you have such a wonderful sense of style.

[And a natural seductiveness that Temple just doesn’t understand. Fish isn’t the kind of person he’d normally consider his type (but he’s not the opposite of it either), yet he feels a strong attraction to them anyway.]

[A young lady’s face with two white horns poking through her bright pink hair appears. Her red eyes brighten as she smiles.]

I would enjoy accompanying you on a shopping trip, Fish-san. It’s been so long since I last shopped for clothes, about a year at least.

[She did buy some clothes during her time with Audentes, but most of those times were usually for the sake of the missions rather than pure enjoyment, so shopping for fun sounds lovely.]

My name is Nyuu, by the way. Pleased to meet you. [She gives a small bow of her head.] Um, could I ask you something?

[ Oh! A cute girl! Now this was the kind of shopping friend Fish was hoping for. Though ideally they’d also like to find someone knowledgeable with the cosmetics and fashions in this world. Fish visibly brightens up. ]

A pleasure to meet you too, Nyuu! I’d be glad to have you along for a shopping trip! Someone cute like you definitely ought to have something just as adorable!

And sure, feel free to ask me anything.

Oh? You can tell already?

[ Fish leans back in their chair, showing off their bare lilac neck and chest, framed by a deep green silk-like robe with painted flowers printed upon it. They tilt their head back, exposing the elegant line of their slender neck. They run their fingers down from their chin to their chest, showing off their long red fingernails as well. ]

Your appreciation is appreciated, darling. What’s your name?

[Temple lets out a choked breath when Fish shows himself off, and then smiles at him.]

I’m Temple, of the Blues and Reds.

Well, Temple of the Blues and Reds, do you have a preference on where to meet? I’m good with meeting anywhere.

[ Fish winks. Maybe there’s a double meaning hidden there. Maybe not. But most likely yes. ]

....

Nope.

[Well, so much for that.]

That doesn't mean that I can't make you something cool though.

[Come on, your natural red accents are just begging to be adorned with demon skulls and horns!]

[Temple shrugs.]

Not really. I barely know this place.

Oh really? And what would that “something cool” be?

[ Amuse them, Ed. Fish is genuinely curious. ]

[She giggles.]

Thank you. You're very lovely yourself, Fish-san. I've never seen anyone with your looks before.

[Nyuu's used to being called cute in a friendly way, so if there was any flirting in Fish's words, it (unfortunately) flies over her head. Likewise, her compliment carries no seductive tone.]

Are you a... a merfolk?

[Fish’s appearance had caught Nyuu's attention first, immediately reminding her of the old fishermen’s tales of ningyo back in her home town of Kamakura, except Fish looks much prettier than what tradition dictates how merfolk look.]

[ It is a terrible thing that the first thing she notices is the makeup. It's actually fascinating to watch having never been exposed to makeup ever. ]

If you need company to find better attire, then I offer mine-

[ Awkwardly combing her bangs over her scarred eye. ]

Uh, Fish.

[Fish definitely brightens up at seeing a girl respond. They do find shopping with girls much more fun than with boys, unless they were just as fashionable.]

Hello lovely! I'd be glad to have your company. What's your name?

[Spy's going to take a moment to just... watch for a second. He's never actually paid much attention to the process of applying makeup, and Fish is doing this like it's second nature.

Also, they're purple. What the hell is up with that?

Once he figures out how to open his video feed, he'll respond. He's old and technology is confusing!]

I haven't had the chance to yet, but I've been meaning to see how much fashion here differs from home. If you would like company, I'm available.

[Ed starts looking around his room. He places the device on the table while he grabs a throw pillow he doesn't particularly care if he loses to transmute something. While the camera isn't pointed at Ed, Fish should be able to hear a sharp clap followed by a bright light being cast on the walls and ceiling. Ed returns, looking mighty pleased with himself when he picks up the camera to reveal a black leather vest with metal studs on the lapel. He might have sacrificed some kitchen utensils for the metal.]

I didn't have a lot to work, so I couldn't make much. Normally I'd add a lot more details.

[Like metal demon skull fastenings with a dragon zipper. Yeah, that sounded pretty cool!]

[despite her better judgement, Mandy does still have a weakness for interesting faces, especially the ones who know how to make themselves more interesting with the right combination of colours. Maybe the fact this person is named Fish would be trippy to other people from her time and place, but to her it might as well just be Tuesday]

Cosmetics and clothing. Oh darling, you are speaking my language.

[she does let that fake English lilt drift into her voice, adding another layer to her own mask of dark-lined eyes and red lips]

I'm not much of one for makeup, on the whole, but I do need something to wear other than my school uniform.

[Hifumi's not completely clueless about makeup, but she takes no pleasure from it. What she knows is entirely because her mother didn't want her to look washed out on-camera.]

That is fair. It's just not right to have just one set of clothing. So, why don't we meet up for a shopping trip? What's your name, darling?

[And Fish certainly does have an interesting face! Purple skin aside, there's red fins! Bright blue eyes! Long red lashes! But they aren't the only one with an interesting face. They notice this lady on video. She's got a powerful look to her and they pay attention. She definitely looks like the type of lady they should be hanging around with.

Fish seems to be sitting straighter in their seat, definitely at attention.]

Well! What are we waiting for! We ought to go shopping! What's your name, darling?

Togo Hifumi. Pleased to meet you, er, Fish-san.

[Now there's a name she never expected to encounter.]

[Well, they're purple. Deal with it. Does Spy have his mask on? Because if he does, Fish is going to look a bit confused by his look... but they'll roll with it.]

Sure. Well, I'm certain my idea of fashion from home is different from yours, but perhaps we'll learn a lot together. What's your name?

A pleasure to meet you as well... mm... Togo?

[Fish hasn't had much experience traveling, so they aren't always completely sure of how names are.

Also, this is the... third? time they've heard someone append "san" to the end of their name. They're getting curious about it now.]

... if you don't mind me asking, because I've been hearing it from a lot of different people now, what does adding "san" at the end of my name mean?
