[ The video starts with a blank screen and a muffled sound. The one operating it has yet to get used to such technology. After a little blackness, the screen focuses on the Firbolg. His skin is a sickly grey fuzz, drawn in around the cheeks, a little unhealthily thin but not gaunt. He smiles, both his eyes and the shock of mohawk hair are a very natural-looking pink. When he finally speaks, his voice is has a very low, relaxing timbre to it. ]

Oh, hey there. Is this on? Am I sending or however this works?

[ Turning his comm around a few times until he was back in the frame. ]

I eh, let's start again, shall we? My Name is Mister Clay, Caduceus Clay and I just wanted to offer my services to anyone in need really.

[ Oh God, he's not used to public speaking. This is kind of terrifying. ]

Well, healing magic is my forte, among other things. So, like, yea. If anyone needs any healing or their mind calmed, oh, I can also do that too, calm you. I'll uh, I'll be around and willing to help out. I've heard these moons do strange things to folk, wouldn't want anyone hurting when they don't need to.

[ He pauses for a long moment. Contemplating ending it there before finally adding. ]

Oh, um and, one more thing... If you've seen anything, anyone dying or dead around the place... Give me a shout? I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

[ He wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable if his appearance was too much, he'd turn the comm to voice if she felt better that way. Just say the word and it's done. ]

Hmm, well, I guess it is. I have to learn my spells and cantrips. Though, magic through learning it more of a Wizards thing. Being a Cleric, I get my power from my God and being a Firbolg I have some natural magic from my race.

[ Offering a wide, kind smile. ]

You have a little magic in you? Well isn't that neat? I mean, I can, by all means, try and teach you anything I know, if you'd be interested.

Oh um, is a Nurse some kind of healer?

[ The closest things to Nurses and Doctors Caduceus had in his world, were Clerics, Paladins, maybe some of the apothecary's that stocked and created healing potions and oils. ]

As long as it doesn't backfired and I turn someone into a toad or something.

[ She smiles to show she's kidding, but there's a bit of nervousness there too. Magic is still sort of new to her. A few months ago she'd scoff at the idea of it even existing. But now? A lot has changed. ]

Yeah, a nurse helps take care of the ill and injured. [ It's weird that she has to explain this, but then again if he's used to magical healing then it makes sense he wouldn't be familiar with practical healing. ] They're an assistant to a doctor. The doctor does the really intense stuff, but they can't do it all alone. Nurses are just as important.

[ Just let her toot her own horn for a second here. ]

You'd need to learn polymorph for that. But don't worry, even if you did, just bonk them on the head till the turn back.

[ Big wide innocent smile as he if this is the most casual conversation ever. Caduceus's passive perception is creepily accurate, he can tell how nervous she is. Poor thing, he's probably the most chill person she's going to meet in her life. There's no need to be anxious at all. ]

I guess we have nurses and doctors in Exandria by that description. Never heard them by that name though. It's pretty neat.

[ Oh he can tell how proud she is. It's adorable. ]

You must be a pretty big deal back home then. It's an honour to meet you.

[ The serious answer surprises her a little. So it's actually possible to turn someone into a toad? Not that she's planning on it, but it's good knowledge to have. ]

[ She gives him a smile, though the irony of his statement is what she's thinking on. If only he knew how important she had recently become, though it had nothing to do with being a nurse. Being here without being wanted by very dangerous people is a breath of fresh air. ]

I've heard I could continue my nursing career here if I wanted. It's something I've been thinking on. Seems kinda irresponsible to hire people for that without credentials, y'know? It might be fine for other careers, but not one where you hold people's lives in your hands.

[ A pause. ]

I suppose healing magic makes things different, though. Where I come from, you have to run tests, do surgeries, and other invasive things in order to help patients.

[ Oh it was very possible! In fact, some of the people that Caduceus adventured with, had been known to not only turn people they were fighting into animals but themselves too! ]

[ Big smile. His perception was amazing, sure he didn't exactly know why she was so special, he just knew that she was. It was nice. ]

Yea, no. I eh, I don't think a healer with magic has to gain any credentials. I mean, if you don't heal people or let them die, you'll kinda get a bad reputation. That's about it really.

[ There was more to it than that but he hoped she got the point. ]

Anyway, what you do is a kind of magic. You still use oils and ointments to heal, don't you?

Sometimes, yeah. But that's for minor things. [ She's thinking ointments for burns and to prevent infections from cuts. ] The big things require surgery.

[ Though she wonders if maybe he doesn't know what that means. It's hard to know what magic can and can't do. ]

And that's my specialty. I'm an OR nurse — err, an operating room nurse. I assist doctors in surgery, where you have to go inside a person to heal them properly.

Y'know, we don't really have anything like that where I'm from. We normally fix each other up.

[ There likely was someone like a surgeon in Caduceus world, but he definitely didn't know what they were or how they operated. He'd seen the other Cleric in his party, axe a man in the head and then simply put it all back together with her hands and a few healing spells. It was gross yet fascinating. ]

Ah, yea, I've seen something kinda like that. A bit scary if you ask me. And I hate having to bring people back when they die. So stressful, what with having to make sure they only passed away within the last 10 minutes... Hoo boy.

[ Big old innocent smile. ]

[ Christine lets out a chuckle at that. Hoo boy indeed. What a funny joke. A fun, sarcastic comment.

Wait. Didn't he start his post by asking about dead bodies? The smile falls. ]

Are you pulling my leg? It's hard to tell.

Oh, um no I don't think that's me.

Maybe you should check it out? There could be a Kobold attacking your leg. That's not good.
