[ The video starts with a blank screen and a muffled sound. The one operating it has yet to get used to such technology. After a little blackness, the screen focuses on the Firbolg. His skin is a sickly grey fuzz, drawn in around the cheeks, a little unhealthily thin but not gaunt. He smiles, both his eyes and the shock of mohawk hair are a very natural-looking pink. When he finally speaks, his voice is has a very low, relaxing timbre to it. ]
Oh, hey there. Is this on? Am I sending or however this works?
[ Turning his comm around a few times until he was back in the frame. ]
I eh, let's start again, shall we? My Name is Mister Clay, Caduceus Clay and I just wanted to offer my services to anyone in need really.
[ Oh God, he's not used to public speaking. This is kind of terrifying. ]
Well, healing magic is my forte, among other things. So, like, yea. If anyone needs any healing or their mind calmed, oh, I can also do that too, calm you. I'll uh, I'll be around and willing to help out. I've heard these moons do strange things to folk, wouldn't want anyone hurting when they don't need to.
[ He pauses for a long moment. Contemplating ending it there before finally adding. ]
Oh, um and, one more thing... If you've seen anything, anyone dying or dead around the place... Give me a shout? I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Lonely to the outside world but rich with family... Until they all went away...
[ Ow. That's heartache for sure. The Cleric had literally been on the trail of tracking his family down when he wound up here. It's kind of a sore subject. Leaving them in the state they were in and all. Give him a moment tough, and that smile is right back on his face again. He doesn't stay deflated for long. ]
Yea, Fjord's like... Hmm... He's a friend for sure, I'd say my best one? Other than my God that is. I was both glad and saddend to find him here too.

But it isn't a wound he really wants to try picking open. He's insanely curious but not when it comes to people's pain. People tended to share that when they wanted to and not before, there was no point needling it.
Instead, he just smiled at the description. ]
Saddened? Why? Isn't it a good thing to be together?
[ He tilted his head a little. ]
You're best friends with your God?
no subject
Sure, I mean it's pretty great having him here. The fact we're here at all is the part that saddens me. That sounds harsh, doesn't it?
[ Finding the right words is hard, especially when he's actually enjoying making new friends here. ]
We're needed with our adventuring party right now. That's all I mean. IF Fjord wasn't here now with me? I don't think I would have survived the first night.
[ Such a wonderful smile brightens his face at that last question. ]
I sure am. She's always at my side. Always giving me advice and assistance. She's a source of my magic power and I serve her as best I can. Everything I've ever done has been under her keen and caring watch. So yea, I'd say that qualifies her to be a best friend, wouldn't you?

[ He hummed thoughtfully. ]
I'm glad you've got him, then. Surviving is important. But - I understand wanting to get home if you've got something important to do. I'm-- I guess I'm kind of hoping to avoid going home as long as possible. At least not until I figure out how to fix it.
[ Knowing he was going home to a very shortened lifespan was not doing a lot of good things to his mental state, but he was deliberately optimistic about it.
The description of his god made Fox smile, warmly. ]
Yeah. Yeah, I think so. If I could actually feel the source of my magic? I would want to be their best friend too. I've never known that there were gods that could give advice. They don't - ah - it doesn't work like that where I'm from, I guess.

I'd offer you came back with us. With me and Fjord but I'm not sure it works that way. Not sure how it works at all come to think about it... Hmm.
[ Oh, no. He had that look like he was going to zone out again. Stopping himself, he raised his brows and smiled once more at the screen. ]
She's been a little out of reach since I got here though. I really hope she can still hear me. It's a bit unsettling not knowing if she's listening, y'know?
[ Maybe for the first time in the conversation, Caduceus looked a little vulnerable and worried. It passed pretty quickly but it was there. ]

You just met me and you’re already offering to take me home with you, [ he teased, but mostly in an effort to cover up how truly touched he felt. ]
Unfortunately I don’t think we have much of a choice. Not until I figure out extra dimensional magic, anyway, but ah- that’s not going as well as I’d like.
[ The brightness in his look faded as Caduceus continued, something closer to sympathy taking over. ]
She gave you your magic, right? So she’s still with you. Even if she didn’t get to come here with you yourself, you’ve brought a piece of her here, right?

I am? Yea, I am. I think you'd love it in Exandria.
[ Funny he should mention that actually. ]
Oh, hey, well, we could always ask Mister Caleb. He's pretty smart, does all that wizardry dimension stuff.
[ No, no we can't because Caleb's not here... Honestly, he feels so at home around Fox that he's forgetting he's not at home. Sweatdrop. ]
Yea, you're right. That's what Fjord said too. And, I mean, I've got him here too, so I can kinda feel her through him y'know?
[ Caduceus' smile seemed soft and full of emotion as he nodded. Fox just seemed to know exactly what to say. ]
You're a very wise person, Mister Fox. I'd like to get to know you better. In the flesh.
[ He means in person he needs to learn how to actually talk to people properly without coming across the way he does. It's difficult okay? ]
I'll fix you some tea.
no subject
That’s really kind, Caduceus. I mean it.
[ But the thought got instantly derailed by talk of magic. ]
You know a mage that’s working in dimensional magic? [ If Fox’s ears could prick and stand to attention, they would be doing that right now. ]
Is he your friend? I’d love to meet him! Is he here? Has he written any papers on the subject? Ah— sorry sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself again.
[ He laughed, rubbing his head, embarrassed. ]
Haha, I don’t know about wise, but. I do my best.
And I would love some tea. Where should I meet you?
no subject
Tell you what, Mister Fox. I'll tell you all about my world, about the magic in it and the people I adventure with over a nice tea.
[ Seeing as his home is actually Molly, Fish and Fjord's home first, he decides not to just randomly invite people over. ]
Where do you live? I can drop on by.
no subject
Yeah! Yeah, I'd love that.
[ He rattled off an address, and then-- ]
Oh, oh shit, I better clean up-- ah! I'll see you when you get here!
[ And the video cut out. ]
