Apparently some places won't pierce the ears of people being influenced by Cordis. They wouldn't even listen when I told them I'd been considering it for a while.

So, since those places are stubborn, does anywhere know somewhere good to get your ears pierced?

Heat a needle in a flame, put a bit of cork against your ear, and get a friend to do it.

I thought there were special needles for it, that let you put the earring in without having to force it through the new hole.

You can get them, the kind that tattoo parlours use. But don't use piercing guns. They're not sterile and they punch a hole through the ear rather than piercing one.

I had read that infections are more common with those, and also that the holes are more likely to be crooked.

I think the extra force is more of a problem with cartilage than the lobe, but I'm pretty sure my ears are all cartilage right now.

Infections are much more common with them. You can't heat the plastic up enough to sterilise it like you can with metal.

I'm sure there must be piercers here if you can't get someone to do it for you.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I was checking the reviews for everywhere I considered anyway, so I'll definitely steer clear if I hear about piercing guns being an option.

At least at home, they're usually found in cheaper shops in shopping centres. The kinds of places that sell novelty jewellery for children and teenagers.
