I've found myself with more free time than I know what to do with in the evenings.

[Which is to say, he's sleeping as little as humanly possible for the foreseeable future.]

I may as well do something productive with that time, right?

So I was thinking that I would be interested in learning a new language. Or maybe two, though I feel as if learning one at a time may be better. If anyone would be willing to teach me theirs I would appreciate it.

I am also interested in taking up new hobbies if anyone has any suggestion. I have a special interest in engineering and medicine, but in truth my interests are fairly eclectic.

Oh, and I was considering building a new chicken coop for our two hens. I don't suppose anyone has any advice on that? Or on raising chickens in general. I've done a bit of reading but I would enjoy hearing from people who might have more practical experiences.

Mechanical and civil engineering, mostly. But I believe there is no such thing as knowledge that is worthless. Even lies have their value at times.

Mostly acupuncture, herbal medicine and basic first aid. I studied under the next head of the Chen family which were well known for being a family of doctors. Though, compare to many here, my knowledge could be out of date.

I have far more experience on the mechanical side, especially small engines, both petrol and steam powered.

The bulk of my medical experience is from a much different time period, yeah, revolving around DNA and similar structures on a cellular and microcellular level. Although I did spend some time working as an herbalist in another world.

I have some passing familiarity with engines, though I haven't had any chance to actually work with them. Petrol powered engines are a complete unknown to me before I got here.

Or anything about DNA for that matter though I have read a little about it here.

I would be eager to learn more if you'd be willing to teach me.

Showing you the ins and outs of engines is a lot easier to do than giving the crash course on DNA, but I can try my best at both.

[[Tachibana himself was at the long workbench at the back of the garage where the tool-storage pegboard (with a handmade wooden sign reading "Tachibana's Garage" hanging amongst the various tools that were less well organized so much as all scattered about the garage and bench. A mix of various engine and machine parts are laid out in an arc around the rest of the walls, with one pile of salvaged sheet metal set back further, with a blowtorch and welding helmet next to it.

[He definitely taking in everything around him as he passes. He isn't like Ge Banxiao or Shen Yi who would probably be salivating over all these things, but he did take an interest in these things.

Handshakes aren't how he's used to greeting people where he's from but he's very adaptable so he doesn't hesitate to take that hand.]

Where I'm from, it's more common to refer to someone by their full name. [He doesn't sound particularly bothered, however. Different places have different societal norms, after all.] I was wondering if it might be you. I hope you've been well.

My mistake. [[There's a small nod with the sort-of apology, as he makes the mental note of that prefered address and hopes that he'll recall the man's full name later.]]

I have been, yeah. One of my friends arrived, not too long after. It's made it a lot easier to get by.

It's fine. There are so many places and so many different societal convention. No one can be expected to know them all.
